My goal here wasn't to start arguments. I just shot out a thought here, a bit overly emotional in the original post but don't just attack me that goes nowhere. If there are no feelings, then post nothing and my post fades; life goes on.

@Aocowns -Open up your eyes, you said it yourself ; "he only streams because he is obligated to do so." This is true, that means if it was up to him he wouldn't stream at all. Instead of ad hominem attacks and narrowing in on one aspect of my post, why don't you actually consider what I wrote and give it some thought.
@Forikorder - The way you wrote your argument, you make it sound like IdrA gains nothing from streaming. (Ad Revenue?) If it was up to him he wouldn't stream, I would have him do what I posted.
hes not forced to stream he streams becuase hes like money
he likes money, we like to watch him stream its a beautiful relationship isnt it?
He is forced to stream actually. Seems I know a bit more about the guy you are jumping in to defend. This is not a question about the streamers/audience relation, it's a question about how he just demands stuff from his fans. Everyone streams these days, also a lot of amazing Zergs, nobody demands anything from their fans.
3 flaws with your argument:
A. IdrA is IdrA; people will watch him because he is him B. He doesn't demand from his viewers, he says he'll do X if he gets to X point. That doesn't sound like a demand C. That in no way proves that he is or isn't forced to stream
A. Yeah no doubt, I'm just with the philosophy that you will get more bees with honey, than with vinegar. B. That is true, I think I went overboard initially. C. That point was independent of the current discussion. I believe he confirmed that a long time ago, when asked about it. Not coming to mind.

I don't think Idra demands anything from his fans, Idra is smart, and I mean fucking smart and I always take that point into mind whenever he does anything. When he loses terribly and looks like dirt I take into mind he's smart, he doesn't blindly declare I'm great at the game I don't need to practice he understands and continues practicing and fixing problems. Even his comment after losing to Polt was along the lines of "I'm going to stay here and learn" moving from the subject but going back to it IdrA must be so PR savvy it's unreal since joining EG I presume he knows the best marketing moves in every situation sometimes he pushes the boundries in what he does but he knows where the line is and never crosses it. I don't mind what IdrA does though because there's always the option of not watching him (although thats the last thing I'd ever do).
He said his contract says he has to stream sometimes, the details of this are unknown. He also said he likes to stream because he likes money. He never said he only streams due to the contract or something silly like that...
IdrA is many things, ungrateful is definitely not one of them. He always thanks his fans for supporting esports, he always thanks his sponsors. He does do things for his fans and the contrary just isn't true.
Edit: In the name of more lulz, I ran across videos of Destiny (with Catz and Minigun) sniping idra (without stream cheating). Minigun sniped Idra after this, I believe.

I find it funny how much respect Steven has for Idra compared to Catz / Minigun
Minigun did say he would lose a straight up game to IdrA and Catz is slowly changing his opinion. It must be so annoying for IdrA to stream when he gets sniped most games and they do wierd shit.

I think all three of them respect Idra. I don't represent any of the players but I've watched their stream enough to know that they're all really cool.

I remember Catz talking about how well IdrA played at MLG Arena and saying that he thought he would advance out of his group at IEM (maybe even in first place?)
Being required to stream is a win win for all parties. Even if EG takes a chunk of his stream money.
1. Beneficial for the players -Fan interaction, how intimate the interaction is debatable. Regarding IdrA specifically, he's not always the most talkative or the most interact, but overall, hes made a nice effort. I remember him doing AMAs, interacting with the chat, apologizing to his stream for poor games, and much more. -Stream revenue. -Community material. Reddit is FILLED with threads about in game chats, opponent gm/bm, stream behavior etc etc.
2. Beneficial for the teams -Exposure for the team through in game team tags, webcams, overlays etc etc. -Exposure for sponsors.
All in all, teams requiring their players to stream is a no-brainer.

Yup, honestly all teams should require streaming from their players (unless they can't due to internet or something). I feel so many players that aren't as well known on other teams could become so much more known if they would stream more (and give their team more notice as well). One of the things I think every pro should be doing but doesn't for w/e reason, doesn't have to be every day even a couple times a week is better then none.

im pretty sure the money brought in by streaming is such an insignificant amount for most players that teams wouldnt bother to take a chunk of it, i think they only really ask palyers to do so for the advertising then anything
