You could probably swap the most unpopular member and be okay (hi Jihyun), but you're the more established the group the more people are gonna get mad at changes. Ahem. + Show Spoiler + During my vacation this year, I went to Seoul. Very nice, eventhough it was with a tour I (should say we, my brother and a friend) still found time to do some of our own activities (,we were with family actually 12 of us in total). But much to my disappointment those does not include going to GomTV nor attending a music show >< But wutevs, this just gives me another motivation to go again :D Did the usual stuff with the tour and it was nice and all but it could've been much better if it was all free time. Anyways, this did give me a good idea how to go next time and all that. So in Seoul our Hotel was in Itaewon. With that said, we only stayed in Seoul for 2 nights :o Erm well, we also visited Jeju and some mountain resort bs. Was cheap tho so can't really complain. The tour had nice 3 decent meals everyday. Anyhow, I left off with us staying in Iteawon, a big district popular with expats and tourists. The first night there we went and walked out to the mainstreet there. On our way there we were greeted by the Redlight district, rather funny because we didn't expect that at all. We were like wtf, but then at further inspection, most of them there were Chinese, not so good. Different from Amsterdam where they stand behind their doors, these sit at the middle of the road welcoming you ;p The street itself was dark but still bright of red lights, a familiar feeling came to mind, I guess all these places would have the same feel to it. We wanted to take pictures at first but seemed kinda disrespectful and we were the only ones walking the street so couldn't exactly do sneak shots. Shame. And much to our liking, the nightlife street was booming. It was only 2 parallel street away from the charming street we just walked. Strange how there weren't that many people walking that street I thought, maybe later that night for when they didn't get so lucky. So at the start of the street I think I saw a store Running Man visited and I took some photos there to identify (still need to do that but it sure as hell looked like it). Walking around, the amounts of bars, clubs and lounges were impressive. Most of them seemed full, with music booming all the way. It got late quite fast, going in a club for an hour wasn't exactly what we wanted to do so we got ourselves some beer instead listing to Kpop, nice. And then we have the second day in Seoul. During the activities we went to Myeongdong, a shopping area. They gave us an hour to spend there. The guide said that if people wanted to visit the church, they should follow him. And so because I'm with my family I just went ahead and agreed to that, I didn't know what to expect so it didn't really matter. So as we walked the streets, it was so nice. The area is big and the streets were broad. The whole Korean feel to it. First store that caught my eye during the walk to the church was a what-they-call-a-Bromide-store. They basically sell Kpop stuff, CDs, posters, socks, cups, cardholders and all that sort of stuff. You name it, they have it, well not always ;p I was like wtf wait up, lemme visit this store real quick. But I stopped the urge and walked on because it was a rainy day and didn't really want to lose the group. And then some 10 stores I saw a familiar store, a big one. It says SPAO, I thought to myself why I recognized it and then it hit me, memory is a funny thing. A year ago, Moonwrath did an write up of how he went there and got all sorts of SNSD stuff. I sooo wanted to go in. Again, went ahead and followed the group. Then a whole bunch of cosmetic stores lined up one after another. You'd see Yoona, Shin Se Kyung, Seohyun, Lee Min Young, Eunjung (yes weird, I thought they removed her photos all together) and Sistar. Probably forgot some but when it comes to ads, Kim Sohyun was EVERYWHERE. IU quite prominent aswell but nowhere near. So by the time I got to the church, prayed and went out, I still had about 10mins to go back and visit all the stores. Nowhere near enough so in the end we just left and came back after all the activities. And we did. This writeup seems very unorganized and hard to read so I'll just end it quick with the list of things we bought. I just got back so there are alot of things I want to do and need to do so I'm just gonna be lazy and not do all sorts of corrections. I know for sure that if I don't do it today, it may never happen. Actually I want to take pictures of the things I bought but I lost my USB cable so that's pretty shit. - T-ara Cry Cry album and poster - T-ara Day by Day album and poster - Sistar So Cool album - Sistar Alone poster - BoA Only One Photobook Limited Edition + poster (sick nice poster) - 4Minute Season Greeting 2012 (best box evar, got photocards, tape and calender) Very nice Hyuna pics =D Didn't know these things exists man, gonna buy 2013 for sure. - Invincible Youth photobook (couldn't find it on internet at all) - SNSD The Boys Japanese poster, 2 different ones - T-ara Paris Photobook (pretty expensive but I just wanted all T-ara items before they go down) We got into a shop and bought some stuff and because for whatever reason, they gave the 3 of us each a gift, - Sulli Electic Shock poster and SNSD Papparazzi poster | ||

Itaewon is a shit place. Simple as that. It's the most tourist-y place in Seoul (perhaps apart from the Japanese in Myeongdong), so more or less everything there is to put there to take away all your hardearned tourist money. Including the ladies, lol. It's worth a sight though if you're in Seoul anyways. Myeongdong is a pretty cool place though, a shame you only had an hour there. There's tons of everything, and being a big Japanese tourist area, there's tons and tons of K-Pop stuff there as well. Did you see the EverSing store, located at the very top of the same building with some big skin products store? Those stores are owned by SM and is loaded with K-Pop and merchandise. Seems like you enjoyed your stay while still missing a lot of the awesome stuff. Tours are nice and all, but rarely show you the true face of whatever country you're visiting. I hope you get the chance to go back one day ![]() EDIT: Pictures!
