It's actually far closer to an L phoneme than an English R. Just try saying a couple words like 'luck' 'leave' 'hall' or 'late', but have your tongue make full contact with the alveolar ridge (that bony plate right behind your upper teeth) instead of just the tip of your tongue and you'll likely get a good approximation even on your first try. With the English R phoneme, it can be pronounced with pretty much just your lips. Of course, this doesn't stop anyone from transliterating it as L or R interchangeably, but linguistically, it's a lot closer to L.

What label is she in? Unable to find that info Honestly will probably do the same thing for JB+Jr. whenever JYP debuts them, which is probably sooner rather than later so they'd be fresh off the DH2 hype. Although having the first broadcast appearance of JB ever portray him as an asshole probably isn't the best choice lol as for the l and r thing, dude above me is right. There's an r ish sound, but it's not an English hard R at all.

I decided to look up other (solo) stuff by her, and found "Let's meet again" + Show Spoiler + Anyone know of other songs by Kim Yeonji? I didn't really listen to much SeeYa before, but do you guys have good recommendations for songs by SeeYa or any of the members going solo?

Songs I really like by them The Day,(ft BEG too) 그래도 좋아 Ghastly OST (also has Soyeon, duet between her and Lee Boram) The last 사랑의 인사 연가 Some audio clips Soyeon and Lee Boram + Show Spoiler + The Last + Show Spoiler + not the full version tho Either way, most of their songs are really good so I would just suggest dling their albums.

Update on the situation, I heard the DVD I'm looking for might be available on some website that I need an invite to. Currently waiting for that invite to hopefully retake that screencap in it's glorious quality of origin. English, Korean, Japanese and a little of Spanish ![]() You should watch her university show which is now currently airing on MNet in the U.S. and in Singapore by the way! The whole show was fully subbed to english by Karaholic.

"Nicole" isn't exactly a Korean name. On February 09 2012 07:13 andyrau wrote: she basically caused seeya to break up. why would you ever like her Meh. SeeYa could've kept going as a duo like Davichi. You could also blame Soomi for leaving to join Co-Ed School. In any event, Gyuri is pretty hot and her voice isn't bad either.

I am a native korean speaker (Seoul) and I would under no circumstance transcribe ㄹ as R. And really, there's no rule for how to pronounce it, regardless of what it's surrounded by. ㄹ only makes one sound. As LosingID8 pointed out, it's sort of a mix. Imo, it's a lot closer to L than it is to R. But thinking about it now, I do kinda see the point. 사랑 sounds equally silly sa-rang and sa-lang. Romanized Korean is silly. 서현 = Seohyun wtfbbq?

edit- and Gyuri's not a bad actress either considering she was trained as an idol. I'd say she's better than some teenage "actors" in dramas even.

Or Riji edit- http://www.soompi.com/news/a-pinks-hong-yoo-kyung-is-the-daughter-of-a-multimillionaire dayummmm that's awesome. I kinda suspected as much cause they showed her house on a program (may have been Apink news, don't quite remember), and it was really nice. Still bottom 2 apink for me though.

Soo Ji is a very much Korean sounding name, while Sunny is a nickname for Soonkyu (as is generally the case for people who go by Sunny). But anyway, when you see a very much western sounding name, it ought to at least bring up the thought that she might be from the west.

Either way without the foreknowledge someone could see those examples and see Nicole and not necessarily know that she wasn't raised in Korea.

Thing is, I kinda felt like a total creep being surrounded by 15yo girls with their bubbly appearance (pigtails, everything in pink, etc). Trying to fit in later by screaming my heart out to U-Kiss performing just exchanged this feeling for another weird one. But meh. What can you do? The most remarkable thing was that everything was better live than on tape. I even enjoyed SNSD in the end - didn't understand why Sunny, Sooyoung and Hyoyeon got the most cheers, but w/e. The Boys is pretty decent when performed live, it's a powerful song that works when you see it and have it bang in your ear. And I say that even though the technicians fucked up Taeyeon's mic and refused to repair or replace it after Mr. Taxi so she couldn't bring the high note in The Boys, like at all. Douchebags. Also, everyone in Sistar was fucking hot. And I'd go to a whole 2PM concert if they did one. They're just incredibly fun. And Soyeon #1. For those who didn't know. Most adorable thing to ever have lived. Gonna rest now. Beeeeeeeeeeeep.
