I like the album but I feel like The Boys is just a mess. Some really good parts that could have worked out well but the cheer leading chant just kind of ruined the flow and made it a mess. Might edit the song later on to remove those parts for my own personal playlist cause I really think Teddy Riley fucked shit up.
As for the album like I said I generally liked most of the songs. Best ones in my honest opinion are Trick, Telepathy & Top Secret. I sort of like Oscar, Lazy Girl & Vitamin too. My J sounds like a Christmas song and I don't enjoy the Korean version of Mr Taxi as much as I'd like to. The rest are "okay" so far but maybe I'll warm up to them later.
All in all I'm not disappointed but not excited either. For some reason SM chooses the worst songs to promote lately. (RDR, Hoot & The Boys over Echo, Best friend/Mistake/Wake up & Trick/Telepathy/Top Secret) Kind of lame.
Hopefully my review doesn't sound too "SONE" -like, I actually despise the kind of fans that gobble shit up blindly but I am a fan of SNSD.

Oh and it'd be cool if SNSD-Trick would be their title song. At least it sounds like something they want to promote nowadays, a bit of a Mr Taxi feel to it.

Oh my, that sounds 10x better to me. The rap part in the chorus totally kills the song imo.
Edit: The intro is still killing it. Take out everything including the first "We bring the boys out" and just start the song off with the beat.

Yeah the selection ie which part to use and where is not ideal and it's always gonna be debatable, and nevermind the actual editing, but I mean come on. How the fuck can anybody be serious about this Riley guy, it's so easy to see how to improve this song jesus

I've been working on the Korean one the past hour or so (I am no expert) but I did something similar. Left the 2nd rap in cause I think it's fine but completely cut the cheerleader parts. The end doesn't really end well but yeah, could have been much better. :\

I'm starting to feel the same way. The second half of The Boys (the song) is pretty damn good. Ever since my first listen I knew that Trick was my favorite song on the album though.
