I want to address the troll theory. It's often considered to be acceptable for a group to have a troll in order to fill certain stereotypical obligations. However, upon further inspection, very few groups actually have a resident troll.
Look at the good first.
T-ara - Definitely not the first group that comes to mind when thinking about troll-absent groups. But I maintain that Hwayoung is quite attractive. Sure she's freakishly tall, and always next to Boram for some reason, but constantly appearing next to Eunjung and Qri is a daunting task that she handles well.
Secret - One of the hottest groups out there. Even Zinger's Snookie like attributes won't allow me to label her a troll. You see those thick legs? Some of the nicest in the business (overshadowed by Hyosung’s overall godtierness though). Zinger's not a troll brah. Don't come at me with that garbage.
Miss A - In case you missed it, Sujji is fine as fuu nowadays. Does that leave Jia under scrutiny? Well, there's a reason someone was calling her Suzy. Personally, I wouldn't forget her name.
Dal Shabet - Not as definitive as Girl's Day, but clean across the board nonetheless.
Sistar - Pure sex appeal bro.
Wonder Girls - Relevance? I see none.
Brown Eyed Girls - Does Miryo age as well as Narsha's surgery ridden body? Maybe not, but after a little bit of SoJu I'd be none the wiser.
Ok, so I may have missed a group here or there, (Apta School, A Pink?) but there's only 2 prominent ones remaining. Both of which belong to the same company and seem to strictly adhere to the troll theory. Which begs the question...Why you do this, SM!?!?

I'm willing to wait cause isubs is really good in terms of translation and grammar an actually subtitling everything, including the text that pops up on screen. Haven't checked out the kshownow subs or w/e but most subs that are rushed out in like a day or two feature horrible, broken grammar and/or spelling, sometimes to the point where you don't know what it means. Basically I'd rather have the month or so delay (50 just came out, 51 is almost done) with good subs rather than the faster but shitty subs found elsewhere.
Also, hwayoung, gyuri are trolls IMO, don't know all of dal shabets names but pretty sure I saw one that didn't look good to me. There are popular groups without them though.

I feel the same way, can't stand it. Especially with fansubs the quality can reach rock bottom really fast. There are also way too many people who sub for time, rush their shit out. Don't properly encode HD etc. They use crappy 360p and then upload to youtube so that it can get removed by DMCA in a couple weeks and also gets re-encoded by youtube so the quality degrades even further. Can be quite infuriating really, to the point where I will just not want to watch a certain show anymore.
Also with the delay. When I saw pictures of the Suzy episode, I just watched the raw. Apart from that it doesn't really matter that much if you are waiting for episode 57 or for episode 51.No matter what, it's only one episode a week.
And with iSubs, they really provide an excellent product. I don't know how it works exactly but to get the texture and gradiant on the font I believe you need to work around with some photo editing programs or after effects or something crazy. But it makes it feel "native" When the translation has the exact same crazy flame coloring and flies and explodes the same way the caption does. Can't get any better than that. A big part of these variety shows I feel is the use of captions, atleast for me I feel that is very different from what I'm used to and adds a lot of value.

You make a lot of good points but I'll have to watch the kshownow sub before I pass judgement. I-Subs does a great job no doubt about it, I've watched 40+ episodes with them and like you said they translate EVERYTHING. 10 years life lost ( hope you get that reference).

Gyuri is just as bad/worse with no make-up as Nicole is.

I am number 1 Nicole fan and I don't agree. Based on the pics/videos I've seen, Gyuri definitely looks better without make-up. With make-up tho... Nicole clearly becomes superior being on the planet.
Also I know that one Nicole pic when she came out of the gym is infamous but during her university show she had multiple self-cam videos with no make-up and she's far from as bad as that pic made her look like.
I like Nicole don't get me wrong(personally one of my more favorites from KARA) but she looks bad without make-up and really good with.(plus she has to cover that forehead of hers).

Hwayoung looks gross to me, which is weird considering I think Hyoyoung is the best looking out of 5dolls (not that that's hard, it's like 4 trolls and 1 that passes), YoonHye was great until they decided she needed to have short ass hair, Gyuri never looked good to me. Other than that kinda agree.
