my biggest issue with romance (and there's a couple) always is that it, at least to me, almost never feels like two people but rather one person who happens to be MC and you get a cardboard romance-insert who claims to be a person but really isn't. More often than not the 2nd person ends up being nothing more than some romanticized (pun intended), prince charming / whatever the female version of that is and nothing else. You rarely get a story about TWO people... or maybe I'm just watching all the wrong romance series, idk.

Now of course Mugi is still falling way behind when it comes to character considering that Hanabi seems to be (?) more of an the MC than him. Or maybe we're just starting out with her and we'll later get a bit more from him but just spelling out what's in the above pictures was nice enough for me.
Just the acknowledgement that the other person in question also happens to be a person of his own, with his own thoughts, flaws and whatever else belongs to him. Sad thing that that's a thing that impresses me when we're talking about a genre that's supposed to be a story about two people.

Fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so mad about this arc. Tsuneki was a great girl but the arc was just utter trash. Like wtf they have the sweetest underwater kiss ever that I died from diabetes and they don't even get together at the end of it. They decide to be friends because Tsuneki has to leave for her career in 1.5 years and she doesn't want to half ass dating and that's fine. But they don't even talk to each other during that 1.5 years despite wanting to be friends. Next, they coincidentally reunite in 5 years when she comes back from spain in the bar that tsuneki worked at before (and this wasn't even planned, it was literally just luck) and there has been no hint of whether Tsuneki even thought about shouichi in those 5 years. Literally acquaintance-zoned. For all I know, they might not even resume dating again. There wasn't any indication that she still liked him after 5 years.

Also I just want to rant about how dumb of a reason it is to want to be a chef because some other person ate your cooking and really really liked it. Also wtf is with shouichi wanting to be a dietician. Actually wtf is with this guy, the only thing he has is a bunch of weird fetishes but he doesn't get to act them out unlike Junichi's ramen bondage scene. All you see are his fantasies.

I can't believe the only thing that came from this arc is teasing. I don't watch an amagami spiritual successor for this shitty ending. Next girl looks pretty shitty so I will probably peace out till ep 9 when it is osananajimi's turn just like how I skipped every arc in amagami except haruka and tsukasa.

Good points: underwater kiss scene, tsuneki, teasing, araki is literally a furry-sexual, ikuo, and mako. Drama gets resolved quickly and realistically.
Bad: everything else. It's a lot worse than haruka's arc too
