Adding in some information about Akiha in BMW.
(3:47:21 PM) Ecael: the thing is that (3:47:25 PM) Ecael: if her AT field procs (3:47:28 PM) Ecael: she doesn't get +2 morale (3:47:41 PM) Ecael: like if it reduces damage down to 0 it doesn't get her morale (3:47:46 PM) Ecael: then she is -1 morale per miss (3:48:00 PM) Southlight: [Isn't that fine] (3:48:42 PM) Ecael: I actually really disagree with doing her that way (see first post) (3:48:43 PM) Ecael: lol (3:48:54 PM) Ecael: and yeah if she had an actual close ranged attack (3:48:57 PM) Ecael: she'd actually be good (3:49:25 PM) Southlight: translating another one then (3:49:29 PM) Southlight: more on your level (3:50:18 PM) Ecael: "魂持ちと射程で凛の方がいい ・ムダイ対策はランサーとシオンで十分 などの理由で第四部の桜加入で2軍落ちする人も多いかと" (see second translate) (3:50:45 PM) Southlight: yea (3:50:47 PM) Southlight: iw as gonna t/l that (3:50:52 PM) Ecael: that one is more useful (3:51:04 PM) Ecael: and I agree with the morale boosts from that one more (3:51:17 PM) Ecael: unless rhythm procs with AT field negating to 0 (3:51:23 PM) Ecael: pretty sure it is only supposed to work for evade (3:52:47 PM) Ecael: 戦意高揚 is iirc +5morale at start, 意気揚々 is +1/turn (3:52:52 PM) Southlight: 戦闘で相手の攻撃を回避または無効化すると気力+1 (Rhythm's translation on morale, evade/ineffective attacks +1 morale.) (3:52:55 PM) Southlight: so yeah (3:52:59 PM) Southlight: barrier +1 morale (3:53:05 PM) Ecael: oh in that case rhythm (3:53:09 PM) Ecael: and use her (3:53:12 PM) Ecael: w/ support defense (3:53:13 PM) Southlight: ig uess that's why that guy says she's pretty godly (3:53:14 PM) Ecael: and tank up
So yeah, I keep on forgetting that rhythm apparently works with rendering attacks ineffective, so it should work with barrier, which means best to tank her up, get support defense and add hp to avoid AI auto-targetting her. That way you can itemize with boots, upgrade EN and Armor and go for quick SP Recovery. The problem though is as said before, early on it is hard to have that kind of leisure to be able to dump points on her.

In other words, don't let min/maxing get in the way of love. She's serviceable, even if she's not particularly good.

Don't let efficiency get in the way, run into the secret stage with love and Akiha!

Even here in TL, outside of people from this thread anime is being heavily looked down upon for no reason, even though the people here should understand what it is like to be looked down upon for your hobby just because it is not mainstream as it is a Starcraft forum after all. But people are idiots, so you should care less about what "normal people" think.
Hell, anime is looked down upon in this very thread >.>
Also @ zalz: Yes, there is some good stuff on HBO. But Western TV in general (I'm talking about basic cable here) is terrible, IMO. Sure, the average anime is bad, but I think that in general I enjoy anime more.
Western shows just get dragged on for way too long. They try to tell one story in like seven seasons, and it feels so dragged on (not to mention the networks organize things poorly and you get shit like the show airing for a month, then not being on for a few weeks). Most animes tell a story in 12-24 episodes. It actually feels neat and succinct and coherent. The only things I can ever watch on Western TV anymore is sports and comedy shows where there's no plot or anything.
And don't even get me started on Hollywood. What a sham. All these big movies have a big enough budget to pay off the entire US debt (yes, hyperbole), yet they all suck terribly. You'd think with that much money they could make something with depth and good writing and acting, but instead you get your money stolen with shallow shit.
Edit: Southlight's post on page 889 makes me sad. I wish I could read all these great LNs and VNs.

I wish i could join you guys when you talk about VN/LN/Games but I only have a very basic understanding of Japanese :/

Well BMW (Battle Moon Wars, not Bavarian Motor Works), which I gather is the latest and greatest discussion topic atm, has some acts translated in English as far as I know. I don't know how comprehensive the iteration I played was, but it was great fun, especially for a gamer like me who really enjoys Fire Emblem and SRT.
I totally relate to the sentiments of wishing to read Japanese, though. I've studied it for 4 years and still literacy is a far-off dream to me.

Pretty much, me too. Although there are some methods at your disposal to try to keep up with them. 1) VNs - either an english patch or ATLAS. But rumor has it prolonged exposure to ATLAS can cause irrational anger, violance and severe depression. 2) LNs - well here you got 3 options. 1=you're in luck and it's translated (lol yeah, like that EVER HAPPENS LAWL FML). 2=find detailed chapter/volume summaries people write on the net about the LN. 3=find the corresponding anime/movie. 4=Learn japanese (time consuming, but probably the best option) 3) Games - we're pretty much fucked, unless they belong to the Nasuverse (Tsukihime/Fate/KnK) which seem to be very popular and for good reason, too! 4) Google the titles they drop around and pick the wiki links to at least have the slightest idea what the fuck they're going on about. Comfort your aching heart with other google searches around the subject.

BMW is completely translated story wise afaik, the only things missing is supposed to be a few abilities and character dictionaries stuff.
|
So, seeing as how BMW is based upon several Eroges, is this game SFW? Because I played through SRW OG1 and OG2 at an emulator at work when I'm bored, and if I could do that with BMW as well, that would be nice.

BMW is perfectly safe for work, though the animations might include panchira (only one I recall offhand is Magical Amber though) and somewhat funky mahou shoujo outfits.
EDIT - Actually Len (both white and black) have animations that's on the nsfw side, but you can disable animations.

As far as I know, denpa = crazy.
Edit: Wait, how do you cosplay as tissue hime? Cosplaying as a cosplayer???
|
Ooh I'd like to know this too. AFAIK denpa has to do with bubbly energetic music with an emphasis on electronics-based sound
