I must be the only one who found Kotomi incredibly irritating. I like kuuderes and she just... ugh. Fuuko was like Makoto, but way more annoying. Tomoyo was fine, Kyou is generic tsundere, Ryou is boring, Nagisa is whatever. I wasn't the biggest fan of Ayu or Shiori, but Nayuki was at least comical. I don't understand a lot of the reasons people prefer Clannad to Kanon tbh. | ||

That's a good cause for a 4000th post. I don't get all this Angel Beats hate right now. The series has some problems, but it's nowhere as bad as many people make it out to be. But that might be another point where it comes down to personal opinion and the impression that the series left. + Show Spoiler [Angel Beats] + I consider some of the things that were mentioned here as good points, for example the whole plot with Kanade and Otonashi's heart. I also disagree vehemently with the "Kanade is portrayed as the villain" comment by Spazer. The SSS tells everybody that Kanade is a villain, but she never actually is a villain (except for the clones). That's easily visible from episode one onward and not something that is inserted into the plot later on. *sigh* Of course it might be that I'm just strange for really enjoying the show, the setting and the characters. But sadly, that wasn't the case. I ended up lowering it to a six after this discussion and because I'm still pissed and feel like I wasted a day marathoning it >.> Edit: The soundtrack was great however. They did a really good job with it, especially the OP and ED. | ||

This was actually my first VN, in which I got hilariously duped by Shimotsuki Haruka's voice. It also set my bar high for subsequent stuff. It's also a prequel of sorts for Kara no Shoujo, which I actually think is the gutsiest and one of the most masterfully done works of art. I would have skipped straight to KnS except very subtly it gives away the end to Cartagra and it doesn't quite feel right ruining it Cartagra was released in 05 and follows a WW2 veteran who's come home and works as a private detective. He gets two case requests on essentially the same day, and picks the safer one, because he'd rather not die. The first is from another WW2 veteran and friend, to investigate a chain of murders and disappearances thought to be related to a priest's cult. The second, and the one he accepts, is a request from one family, or specifically one girl, to find the girl's missing older sister. The family wants to the girl to give up looking for her, as she's been gone since during the war (and the remaining sister is now a famous actress). He's got a second reason for accepting the search, however... ... and much to his chagrin the string of murders takes place in the same damn place. Edit: Also I'm gonna just go through the true route. | ||
