SS-Eclipse is still around. I got their eps from last week. You probably didn't know they changed websites. http://eclipse.speedsubs.org/

BSS did TM8. http://www.animetake.com/ Goes through all the trouble of finding the releases and putting them in 1 spot. At least makes it so I don't have to check several torrent sites a week to see if something new is out.

Audience, I suppose. I can see both sides of it, if possible, I'd just be like mkv + 2 sets of subs for people :p EDIT - Though that kind of mentality is exactly why I don't do anything with fansubbing~ On July 14 2009 06:44 Mystlord wrote: 3 groups are doing Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 - BSS, Aoi-Anime, and Gleam Street. I don't even want to say anymore. It is always hard to get a proper feel on style and how to translate things, for example, with Clannad, I much preferred Sprocket over Eclipse because of how literal the former is in comparison to the everyday English that Eclipse is. If memory serves, CoalGuys aren't as much wrong as they are liberal with things (its been a while since I checked stuff from there, that and I avoid subs now).

Yoku Wakaru Gendai Mahou is interesting only because of it's character designs, and the animation company (Nomad) is pretty good with quality. The title implies that the story is going to be a little... odd I suppose is the right word, but I dunno. Of course Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 is on my watch list. BONES does some really nice and off the wall stories. Aoi Hana if you're into yuri. Needless for shounen. Umineko no Naku Koro ni reminds me of Lonely Island Syndrome from Haruhi (The murder mystery one), and the set up is pretty much exactly the same. The best part is that Daisuke Ono (Koizumi from Haruhi) is the lead, so I found that kind of funny. The light novel that it's adapted from is from the same people that made Higurashi. Just thought I'd throw that in there. Bakemonogatari since SHAFT is doing it :D Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is the one I'm going to watch all the way. <3 Canaan looks to be the show of the season. PA Works did some great stuff with True Tears, and I'm not expecting any less from them with this.

The story one bored me to death but the comedy one was great. Hopefully it doesn't get bogged down with story a whole lot.

Higurashi and Umineko are not light novels, but visual novels. [/nitpick][/fanboy] You are right though, very similar premises, Umineko function slightly different from Higurashi. While both games were referred to with chess, Higurashi is an ongoing game, whereas Umineko is a puzzle to be solved. What is Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 really about and what's preventing me from wiki-ing past catastrophic earthquakes, read, and have that be it?

If you really want to get down to it, Higurashi and Umineko are "sound novels" as described by 07th Expansion. Whatever. Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 is about the journey of 2 people back to their hometown following the earthquake. I'm still waiting to see how it will turn out ![]()

I'm still waiting to see how it will turn out ![]() Except there are no voices and only bgm, putting it with other visual novels. Sometimes you wonder what the hell they are thinking, no? The correction was only made because of the size though, each individual episode were quite hefty size-wise, way surpassing what light novels seems to be defined at. Oh, at the premise part, I was referring to Endless Eight, sorry for not making it clearer. And that...is kind of interesting, I suppose. If I have time I'll pick up Tokyo Magnitude, though my priority should probably be more reading with gendai mahou and wolf and spice on my plate. As I was checking tokyotosho randomly, I saw that live-evil picked up genji monogatari from like, um, 2 seasons ago? I was cracking up sooooo hard when I first saw news of them doing it, only to laugh even harder when I checked casts and saw the official site. I wonder who got the idea to actually bother.

Some subbers are numbering based on the number in the second season while others are numbering based on overall chronological order, and it's confusing me. T_T.
