I think I skimmed an episode once of Majestic prince, MC was just whining in it so it drove me off XD

Majestic prince MC didn't really whine much as far as i remember, but it has some of the absolutely best mecha 3DCG so far in anime

imo

Majestic Prince is probably the pinnacle of CG mecha. Also, the first few episodes kinda suck. Stellvia was alright to good. I liked a lot of it, but they rehash the same plot points again and again. Votoms has a special place in my heart for going all out with the gritty realism. Vietnam in space is the best arc by faaaar. Scopedogs are also just cool. The overall plot gets a bit weird, and not in a way I liked. Infinite Ryvius was wasted potential. I liked how the start played out, but the second half of the show really sucked. Watch Yamato 2199 instead. Despite being a classic, the original series has arguably not aged well in quality or content. Crest/Banner is good. I need to rewatch it sometime.

majestic prince or crest/banner

To be perfectly honest, I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. Thats a pretty good list you've compiled! Only one I haven't seen is Uchuu no Stellvia.
Majestic Prince is the King of CGI Mecha. The story isn't exactly ground breaking, but it has an engaging cast and a consistently written story. Its common for many modern Mecha anime to have a good start, and then spiral into shit as they try to do all sorts of weird stuff that just fails narratively, but MJP sticks to what works. And I'm probably one of the biggest haters of CGI Mecha here, but MJP's mecha stuff is great, especially in the second half.
Not sure about what you mean by the MC whining, considering none of the main cast are whiners. Maybe you are thinking of something else? The MC of MJP is pretty gung-ho. The anime as a whole is extremely light on melodrama, so when there are times for characters to angst, its typically lowkey and doesn't cram it down your throat.
Votoms is a classic. When it comes to mecha being realistically protrayed, there are hardly any mecha anime that come close. It is fairly old at this point, but assuming you are fine with mecha anime from the early 80s then you'll be fine.
Infinite Ryvius is also very good. The best way to describe Infinite Ryvius is that its the Lord of Flies, except in space, with occasional robot fights.
Yamato is also a classic. I recommend the 2199 version if you are going to do it. Its modernized, but as far as remakes go, its one of the best. Keeps the story in-tact, and most of the changes that are made are for the best. But at its core its still the anime that basically created Scifi Anime, with all its 70s quirks and feels.
Crest/Banner of the Stars is a very talky show. Its focused largely on the dialogue and banter between characters. And luckily, the characters are all fairly good and the show benefits as a result. The setting and presentation is pretty good too. The bad part about Crest/Banner is that it doesn't actually have an end... Its still a good anime, though.
If I had to choose only one of them, I'd choose either MJP or Votoms.
I think the correct answer is to watch them all? Or watch LOGH instead? Or watch them all and LOGH?

Thanks for the info. Crest definitely seems interesting and so does Votoms. I'm still unsure about Majestic Prince but so far, it's 4/4 so I'll definitely give it a go. Also, getting praised despite its CGI mech by our mech expert is something lol. If no one else votes soon, I'll probably watch those three in that order then the rest afterwards. Only concern is that Crest doesn't have an ending. I guess it's much like Tytania's ending then though at least there, it felt like there was some form of closure: + Show Spoiler +Zarlish and his brother died closed off that chapter at least and made you wonder how things will go from there. Makes me wonder if I should try Votoms first then lol.
Toad, you also voted for Votoms huh? cool!
edit: I plan to watch LoGH eventually, maybe after I finish some of these anime first.

I'd point out that Lord of the Flies never had a shitty romance sideplot that trivialized a major character <_<

Back in the day, when I was streaming Votoms and watching it with Echo, I think Emnjay tuned in a few times to watch some of it. And somehow he liked it! And since Toad and Emnjay are basically the same person, I guess thats why he voted Votoms

Obligatory "you should finish the Monogatari series first" comment here.
Also, I thought the original Yamato wasn't that bad. Granted, I watched it as "Star Blazers" dubbed in syndication on Saturday mornings, so my memory might not be great.

Geez, this episode of Tsuredure Children had a different directions going for each couple.
|
yeah I was kind of surprised with what they did with the comedy duo. Didn't expect that. But I'm still amazed by how much I like it. I usually can't stand shorts or find myself bored after maybe half of the season but with Tsurezure children I'm not getting anything like that.
