Monster association arc

Obviously a vol about them visiting Avant Heim and meeting the Flügel would be cool but the game (unlike the "game" in #4) was actually funny, the characters weren't all cringe (I'm looking at you Mrs Siren-Queen) and just genuinly more fun to read.
I'm also a massive Kurami fan (second only to Jibril), so getting her and Fi's adventure in there inbetween was really nice.

The very end was quite shitty again but I'm tacking that on vol#4 being shitty as it basicly was the end for that.
Not a fan of anything related to Siren to put it this way. That includes the mini. At least so far.

Still, feel bad for Chinatsu but I feel like it's mostly the fault of both MCs for keeping it a secret and not be firm or decisive. At least Chinatsu tried and she only failed because Hira was in the way tbh. I was waiting to see how he'll react to her confess but guess we'll never find out now :/

ya, Roman is pretty cool. Would've loved to see his plan to make them get lost lol.

haha well, with this type of anime, that's like the final step probably. Watch episode 12 be the episode where they kiss towards the end. With it being more public now, they'll probably slowly work their way through it.

-Maybe it's because I finished Season 4 (87-110) in less than a week but the pacing felt much faster compared to the other seasons. Episode 89's pacing in particular was absurdly fast, the first half was about Reinhard's PTSD over Westerland while the second half was Reinhard asking Hildegard to marry him like an akward teenager. The tonal whiplash was incredibly jarring.

-I feel a lot of the In-Universe hate towards Oberstein was unwarranted. His inaction during Westerland and his attitude in general is questionable but he had good reasons for them and, Kircheis aside, he was arguably the most loyal of Reinhard's admirals. For all the other admirals to badmouth him so much was very hypocritical (doubly so for Reuenthal and Bittenfelt).

-Episodes 98 & 99 were my favorites. Reuenthal giving Mittermeyer his firstborn child as his "parting gift" was so touching and heartwarming, one of the few times I've shed happy tears for an anime.

-It's a weird thing to say but I really liked Job Trunicht's character and would've loved to know more about him and how he became the man he was. There was something endearing about his scumbaggery and cynicism, he felt different from others like Lang who were treacherous out of greed and/or petty revenge. It's like something broke inside of him in the past and the Trunicht we saw was just a shadow if his former self. Rubinsky was similar but it was obvious that his goal was just to obtain more power while Trunicht never really made his intentions clear.

-I wonder how much of Attenborough's character was anime original. His role in the later seasons was not negligible so if most of it was anime original I have little hope for the remake since it's a re-adaptation of the novels.
