I'd like to not waste time on some censored / cut content bullcrap so where should I go to find stuff?
I see that Muv-Luv exists on Steam, is it ok to start there and then finding some patch somewhere?(pls link if so)

If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. You could play Extra & Unlimited on steam and then get Alternative off of Fuwanovel torrents but I'd recommend waiting for the steam version of Alternative. The better translation is worth the wait (though it's taking a long ass time to release). There's a 18+ patch for the steam version but it's 10 $ (lol) and i can't find a torrent for it. Not that it really matters because the only thing that's cut out is bad porn.

I see that Muv-Luv exists on Steam, is it ok to start there and then finding some patch somewhere?(pls link if so) if I remember correctly, the optimal path of reading muv luv is doing sumika and meiya route in extra, meiya in unlimited, and just read through alternative. Best not to spend too much time on the first two games as alternative is longer than both of them combined and is the main bulk of the story. Also the part of the story that is most heavily praised. Extra is actually hilariously bad so yea just read the two main routes in it otherwise you can suffer things like lacrosse if you desire.

Basically I don't want to do like a 30hour game only to get told later I picked the wrong version or w/e Steam is the official version of extra & unlimited with a better translation, better art quality (slightly cropped images though), semi-animated sprites and a good UI. The steam summer sale is coming soon you can grab the game at 40-50% off if you can wait. There's a patch at denpasoft that restores sex scenes for the steam version for 10 $. I don't think it's worth it because they're pretty bad but it's up to you, only thing you need to know is that the MC and girl fuck at the end of the game. Btw extra is bad, unlimited is decent and alternative is great. I'm recommending the steam version because it'll make Extra more bearable and improve unlimited. Follow IceHism's guide for how to play the game.

Yep that chart is what I used too, here's a guide that explains which choices you need to make so you don't waste any time. Btw don't look around the steam forums much, they spoil shit constantly. + Show Spoiler + Watching the bullying go on was terrible in the beginning. From my perspective, Sho wanted to learn more about Nishimiya but was egged on by several classmates. We see him showing some concern about her potentially getting everyone to dislike her. I was surprised that it got to the point where it became violent in the classroom but I guess it can't be helped. Seeing his mom paying money and with a blood drenched shirt after meeting with her mom must've been the trigger to take it up a notch. The whole 'being blocked off' from making friends was sad too. Feels like the teacher should've stopped the bullying when it was getting started then it wouldn't have gotten far and neither would he have lost his friends or Nishimiya had to change schools etc... Now, having said that, I really enjoyed their relationship growing with each minute. Him gathering up the courage to talk to her again, making a friend and trying to refix old relationships, even if they got undone yet again by the past. The scene with him planning to jump off the bridge and of course, the mom questioning him and trying to make sure he promises her he won't do anything rash was great. It was a bit surprising that she still likes him after all the past bullying, but maybe she forgave him for it. The "I love you" scene that got understood as the moon was funny too, felt bad for her lol. Of course, the kicker was him almost dying, but saving her during her suicide attempt. A pretty emotional scene, especially the following hospital scene with her mom and the subsequent fight. Her having that dream at the end and him waking up and just ripping off all those medical equipment then somehow leaving the hospital to their usual place was the most bizzare part. I would've rather she got to the hospital and was by his side or something but I understand what's going on.

Yeah, that chart right there is a good chart to follow for the VN. The Steam version contains both "Muv-Luv Extra" and "Muv-Luv Unlimited". Alternative, which is the meat of the trilogy, should be finished within the next month or so, if the Kickstarter Updates are anything to go by. All of the Steam Versions are All-Ages, so unless you want nudity and what not, you don't need any patches. If you DO want to see some tiddes, then that Director's Cut thing you found will patch them in. Just an FYI, so you know what you are getting yourself into... Muv-Luv Extra is a pretty generic romcom harem VN, whose main objective is to introduce to you the main cast, and get you setup for the twist. Many people think its bad, I instead think its just generic, but I maybe be incredibly biased because Sumika is mai waifu. Unlimited is where things kick off into things that are what you would expect coming from Schwarzesmarken and Total Eclipse, since that game is the intoduction to the actual setting. And then Alternative is godlike.
