For women the rule of thumb in that line of business is to lie and say you've not had any romantic relationships yet and when you turn 30+ you announce all at once that you've had a boyfriend, that you dated him for some time now, that you married him, that you got pregnant and that the baby is now 3 months old.

That said, Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken is my favorite.

Most of the people who I do talk animu with actually use MAL for its cataloguing purposes. Some of you guys fervently update your watch list, which is pretty impressive it. At best, I just use it to keep track of my queue and what I want to watch/read in the future. Completed list isn't as important to me.

It's just a bit tiresome when you see 20 billion things about how Your Name is the best anime ever and this untold masterpiece for months running while the vast majority of the world can't even see the thing. Kind of like how before Gintama is even out it's heralded as the best anime in years. Gets a bit frustrating watching gems be overshadowed year after year to mindless hype(even if what is being hyped is still quite good). MAL is merely one of the many "communities" that do this but it's made worse due to people actual caring about arbitrary scores. If it was just a cataloging and sharing tool it'd be far less shit.

Also, I think MAL is a pretty decent site overall. Good place to track anime seen/to be seen etc... as well as find gems hidden among the thousands of anime out there. Wouldn't have stumbled onto YYH, Zetsuen no Tempest and many other fun and good anime if it wasn't for MAL so glad to have the site around. As for the hanakana bit, I see. Guess people always have to find something to get pissed off about rofl. Don't follow the life details of VAs so wouldn't have known she got a bf (doesn't matter to me). Thanks for the info. Just caught up on Masamue-kun no Revenge. Man, Neko reminds me of Marika so much. + Show Spoiler + Comes out of nowhere, claims to like MC, was/is sick and compared to the rest of the cast, she's somewhat adventurous and trying to get stuff done by making advancements and all. Only difference is that MC shot down Neko hardcore and from the short time we got this episode, it seemed like the possibility of their relationship going farther is gone for good. While in Nisekoi when it aired, Marika kept making advancements, albeit rather tame ones after the initial steps. She never felt like much of a competitor aside from the MC being flustered while there was a small possibility that Neko goes further (well, she got a kiss in before Aki lol). Anyone know how faithful the anime is to the source?

I think most people that constantly update their mal are just using taiga for that. I only use mal to track stuff i'm watching/want to watch myself and never had any problems with the site, you can easily ignore most of the sections if they're no use to you or are annoying. Their suggestion section could use some work though, why the fuck would I want to watch the second season of a show I dropped after 1 episode for crying out loud.

Anyone know how faithful the anime is to the source? + Show Spoiler [Neko] + Everyone, myself included, basically called her a Marika. 2.0 even imo. I didn't quite understand why Masamune was so turned off by her but it bogged down to Neko being fake? Oh lordy the irony if that is how the plot works out. Neko/Marika are just there as foil to help progress the plot/MCs into doing more things. She makes her declaration and they go running. The animu is pretty faithful to the manga fwiw. There's just some shoddy writing along the way.
