You people are trying way to hard to apply logic to a silly anime. There's not some deep meaning behind her actions. The story demands doing a certain thing to fit the narrative so she does it. It's that simple.

+ Show Spoiler +Once again things were changed up and the order of events is quite different from the LN with Loki already being introduced and Irina being back again already.
Also surprised about even Fenrir being introduced already.
Loki appearing like that was weird though considering the people present he should've been killed instantly. Although i guess Sirzechs and co. didn't want to piss of the nordic gods by just killing Loki right away.
From the preview it seems we're getting Rossweisse introduced properly next episode already.
Also the animation for Bikou vs Tannin was a bit disappointing but BALANCU BREAKER was great.
The order of events is being shaken up a lot compared to the LN, i'm still not sure if this way will be superior or just as good but i'm not against it yet. Atleast the author himself is the one shaking it up so it's not like it's something the anime studio is doing.
In general it seems that he's trying to throw in as much foreshadowing as possible for things that are going to be coming up like stuff surrounding Barakiel.

I think the best way to put it is this: once you consider the stressful situation that they were in and what Numy said above, it makes sense to me why she didn't give it to him earlier. Anyways, I don't really care either. I'm enjoying the anime so far so I won't be dropping this one especially after this last episode ^^

I'm with Souma on this one, I don't watch anime expecting characters to have the most normal reactions so I'm not really bothered by it, but let's face it, anybody in this situation would first give him a weapon, then go on with the touchy-feely mumbo-jumbo.

Trying to explain inane anime character behavior with convoluted overstretched psychology doesn't seem much cooler to me. You can like the character even if what she does really IS absurd. I mean, all you really need is a blue string neatly tied in the right place.

I dunno, I like boobs but such huge boobs for little girls like Hestia looks so wrong. That size at her looks like cowtits to me. So it's rather unalluring for me and no plus which makes me like her more. I definitely like the type of anime though, so I don't give it up yet, maybe it'll get better!
