Arise so far has been rather disappointing in that regard so we'll see how the series shapes up. Sci-fi unfortunately is largely just action based in western cinema which made GitS a welcome change of pace. Texhnolyze says you're wrong. Also, if you're talking about the movie, I think The Matrix is superior. I never liked the GitS movie too much myself and The Matrix was a lot more fun. And...Blade Runner is cyberpunk yes? o_O

And...Blade Runner is cyberpunk yes? o_O Well I'm talking about in recent times(Even though 2005 isn't that recent ;(). Blade runner is cyperpunk but the movie is honestly not that great. Short story was pretty cool. SAC I think was better than the movie but the movie was pretty good itself. Matrix is more action orientated than GitS so I get it being more "fun". Shadowrun is an interesting mix of cyperpunk and fantasy in a game setting. The FPS was a travesty but Shadowrun Returns is cool. What makes it have such fandom. That confuses me the most. It looks just like your average trashy fun harem romcom to me.

It's probably the best out of all the "trashy" harem romcom. Well it's the best i've seen. Mostly the comedy and the cockblocking is what makes it different from the others. And the inevitable drama that happens isn't too annoying. Idk i can't tell but the show is really enjoyable. Other harems usually don't keep my interest long enough like i get unsatisfied cause nothing happens or i get bored eventually. Slaughter comment kinda nailed it.

amplifying pain by 50 times or change it to pleasure >.> How are they even supposed to kill him if he somehow manages to shift (or regenerate or whatever the hell he does)? Also, looks like he kills himself in the next episode's preview? what? So bizarre lol. Hopefully we get some intense fights next episode though I'm not sure if Salia, Chris or Erza(sp?) will get redeemed at this point.

That's just oversimplifying the film, lol. I could say the same thing about GitS and say that it's about a counter-terrorist team saving Japan, but I don't because that's obviously just obfuscating the issue. The Matrix might have been action packed bullet time fun, but that doesn't mean it's bereft of substance. Things don't have to be spelled out in the movie (well, some of them are) to have meaning, but The Matrix definitely has a lot of interesting things to say with the world that it creates, which I think is indicative of good cyberpunk.

Denpa Kyoshi? The source was good at the start before going really down hill. I think the author just wasn't able to evolve the concept enough to keep it fresh. So yea I see Denpa as being a step down from the ones I listed, but it is one that I will definitely check out.

I don't think the Matrix is any less or any more complex than GitS. I think the major difference is the Matrix got too full of itself with philosophy in later movies that it shoved in your face. The Matrix after all borrows heavily from the first GitS movie and original manga.
