Overall I think that the bad guys in near side were kinda meh and shallow but I didn't really mind it that well, very good story and likeable characters. Akiha so shafted in terms of routes. ;; Time for plus disc and/or Kagetsu Tohya! | ||

My main beef with HF (the joys of picking apart newbie's incomprehensible posts aside) is that the romance is incredibly bland, and yet it gets crammed down our throats - and we're apparently supposed to be satisfied with what they give us. Shirou's personal experiences with Sakura in HF are largely identical to the ones from the other routes. She's this girl who comes over, wakes him up in the morning, and cooks his meals for him. Through an appropriately random H-game twist of fate, she happens to end up staying at Shirou's house - where she proceeds to do more of the same. Then she collapses for the first time, and Shirou gets a good look at her magnificently mountainous mammaries while he puts her to bed, and suddenly he decides, "wow! Sakura is more to me than a no-strings-attached housewife!" Only... she hasn't done anything more. The only thing that's changed is that Shirou now thinks she's hot. Before long they're officially "in love," in spite of the relationship having no real development. Shirou cares about her, but the story hasn't made me care about her at all, because she hasn't done anything new to do so. And this continues through the rest of the route. Sakura's background has a lot of new revelations concerning the overall plot, but as far as she's concerned, it's just that she's had a really unfair life. Which impacts her behavior in the story not at all, because even when she's in danger of turning into a monster and killing everybody, she continues to do the exact same thing she's done all along - stay at home, cook meals, and beg Shirou to stop putting himself in danger. (And have sex, natch.) And 2 - The fact that this shallow "love" made him immediately abandon his ideals, something he's been nurturing for 5+ years, something he'd fight tooth and nail to protect (UBW), is frankly, stupid | ||

Also I'm reading Medaka Box and I really don't know what to feel about Kumagawa after the minus arc. I know its supposed to be a shounen parody but + Show Spoiler + the minuses in general did some pretty horrible stuff and now everyones just cool with all of it :s "Lets be friends" only goes so far.
