Now Tsukihime, on the other hand, is all about the girls. I understand waifu wars there. (PS Akiha>Kohaku>>>>>>the rest)
What? No. Whether its in overall power or in coolness, the male cast as a whole loses every time.

I completely and wholeheartedly disagree, but I think Saber's personality is as flat as her chest while Rin is at her best in other peoples' routes. Admittedly, I like Sakura, but she's really... yeah. Illya's great, Taiga's fun, but that's about it. Contrast to Shirou, Archer, Kirei, Lancer, and Gilgamesh...
I'm probably biased because I think Tsukihime's heroines are way better, but the girls in F/SN aren't - did you seriously insinuate that in overall power the male cast loses when they have Gilgamesh? I just realized that, wow. Arrogance aside he's final boss material for a reason.

Haven't read Tsukihime so can't really say. Do think Shiki from Knk is better than all of F/SN girls. Shirou kind of ruins the male cast though.
|
Shirou is one of the least likeable characters in the universe and Archer is just him but bitter. Kirei is the standard "joker" type who just wants chaos while Lancer is a bro mostly who gets shafted, Gil is just some arrogant, probably slightly insane, and annoying character who just talks about how everything is his and people should just stop resisting etc. He isn't interesting hes just the Boss who seems invincible but has a fatal weakness (arrogance). Hell in the Fate route he lost straight up once Saber got both her NP back. Power wise with Servants the Guys as a group > the women but among the masters? Not even close the women have all have the competent and powerful masters outside of Kirei.
Archer is the only male cast member who is actually interesting and more dynamic then just their 1 attribute. Shirou goes through growth but that doesn't stop him from being annoying as shit (to be fair he is a better in UBW so far).
You can argue power levels but when it comes to likeability and being interesting, the female cast laps the dudes like 10x.

Rokujyoma tiers.
+ Show Spoiler + Ghost>Mahou shoujo>landlady>glorious flat empress>underground voodoo tiki girl.

I don't really care about the powerlevels either way, but we'll just have to agree to disagree. I think F/SN's heroines are completely boring but I'm in the minority since Saber is what keeps Typemoon afloat.
PS Ryougi is also better than the F/SN girls, yes.

Scryed? whats this? ZETSUEI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! btw, that definitely does not seem like mecha to me. Why does everybody label it as such? Mostly because of the mecha. but there's not really mecha. Show me the giant robot that guy climbs into and operates to fight with. I always imagined it was more of a supernatural power, and not a mecha b/c there's no like, engineers/technicians, no "pilots", and all that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mecha#CharacteristicsThe word "mecha" (メカ meka?) is an abbreviation first used in Japanese of the word "mechanical". In Japanese, mecha encompasses all mechanical objects, including cars, guns, computers, and other devices. In this sense, it is extended to humanoid, human-sized robots and such things as the boomers from Bubblegum Crisis, the similar replicants of Blade Runner; even cyborgs can be referred to as mecha. The Japanese use the term "robot" (ロボット robotto?) or "giant robot" to distinguish limbed vehicles from other mechanical devices. + Show Spoiler +and ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/FbAnq3e.png) That definition just feels way too broad. Like you could basically label almost any anime as mecha using that definition, since they all of have something like that in one form or another. In any case, Alter Abilities are definitely more supernatural. The only really mecha thing in the whole show is Zetsuei (and possibly Straight Cougar's thing. But still, there's somebody like Kanami who scry's in her dreams...thats absolutely not mecha. I just feel like, just because there's one or possibly 2 instances of mecha's in the show...does not mean it should be labeled a "mecha" show. It doesn't really matter what you think or feel about the definition, it is what it is. People don't get to arbitrarily redefine words to suit their own taste and views. Words mean what they mean so people can optimally communicate and understand each other. And the word is no more broad than something like "drama", either.
The main character turns into a fucking cyborg, Zetsuei is a robot, Great Pink Crusher is basically GaoGaiGar, they fight a giant army of robots at the end, you have that "Hammmer!" guy, etc etc etc. The show is mecha, get over it. The mecha being supernatural or not is completely irrelevant. There are tons of mecha shows where the mecha are straight supernatural. You got a main "mecha" in Super Robot Wars where the MCs are basically riding a sentient transforming Tiger Dragon God thing, and then you have things like Escaflowne, Dunbine, and Rayearth where they are actually in a fantasy/magic setting.

I'm just surprised that Utawarerumono did not get tagged mecha.

From my understanding it is an adaptation of 1 of the routes from the original VN. I wouldn't think there would be anything that would be essential to watch 1st then. You can however read the VN, Watch the original FSN anime, or watch the UBW FSN movie (which covers the same thing that this series will cover). Or just say Fuck it and watch Fate/Zero.

I am sad that a cross of all 3 routes with all the most awesome scenes won't be happening.

I am not sad that that won't happen, cause it was terrible.

It would be impossible to do all three but they likely could competently merge 2 routes with some small tweaks. I would rather they just do what they are doing though and have a separate movie or series devoted to one of the routes (a movie for Heaven's Feel though seems inadequate though).

Mahoyo heroines #1. Soujuurou is pretty good too. Since he fights bears. But no salmon.
|
Speaking of Caren, F/HA adaptation when? Best Fate girl needs a proper adaptation.
|
Heaven's Feel Kirei, that is all.
To paraphrase someone from BL, you'll be in constant arousal every time he's on screen.
@Bashnek
You should be able to jump right in. You'll miss a couple of stuffs (backstory of characters not relevant to the route mainly, and the world infodump) in theory, but hopefully Ufotable will deal with that.

I think UBW should be fine to watch without Fate, right...? I don't remember anything important in Fate, not covered in UBW.
