As for "what sort of mecha show doesn't show the titular mecha within the first hour", there are tons. Zeta Gundam doesn't have the actual Zeta Gundam show up until like halfway through the series. ZZ Gundam didn't have the ZZ Gundam show up for a good bit as well, although it was well before the mid-point. Gunbuster showed up in episode 4, and Diebuster showed up in the very last episode of that. Then you have stuff like Dancougar where it doesn't show up till like halfway through, or Rayearth where mecha don't show up proper until like the last 2 or 3 eps of the first season. And even in an anime like TTGL, which is both recentish and 2 cour, didn't have the titular mecha show up until the last episode, or if you just want to go with the "GL" part of the title, until episode 3. | ||

I mean its the only moment where someone is killed yet theres no blood on the weapon WTF?! Im not impressed, seen bigger blunders tho. Im still gonna watch it. Finished Nisemonogatari and Im kinda meeh dunno why, Karen-chan FTW, but the stories felt kinda weak or its just me returning to series after 4 months dunno... Glasslip HYPE, after 2nd ep this show got interesting, waiting to see what happens..."I don't want to lose" this one was awesome especially cus Im running too, damn. | ||

And this is where creator's scale and achievements come into factor. Akame ga kill is made by White Fox, the studio which produced Steins;gate and two Jormungand, and Akame's visual quality is laaaarge improvement from the past shows and while PA Works stay closer than anyone to their style, they upgrade the arsenal of special effects techniques with almost each series made, it's seen very clearly in Glasslip. On the contrary, Aldnoah is directed by the chief director of Garden of Sinners, Fate/zero, Ga Rei and Houko Musou, and his new show does pretty poor job in artistic department compared to any of the mentioned series, we expected much more of this guy and he failed us right here. This paragraph is weird to me. On one hand, you talk about Akame ga Kill and the studio that made it, and that studio's past work. And then, with Aldnoah Zero, instead of talking about the studio, you start talking about the Director? KnK and F/Z were both made by Ufotable. Its almost unfair to compare the visuals of any anime to one of those, unless its like something from KyoAni or a really high budget Sunrise project like Gundam Unicorn. | ||

Just because it's the same guy doesn't mean they need to throw in Ga Rei Zero characters for essentially no reason. Especially since they probably won't be around at all in the coming episodes. | ||
