When it aired I thought I really liked the thing itself but didn't like the ending. Now that I'm more familiar with how shitty endings for harems usually are I've got to say the ending was quite decent for the genre at hand. So yeah I'd say it was good The art took a while to get used to though | ||

Haruhi was very enjoyable but it didn't age particularly well, mostly because it's amazing art doesn't seem as amazing now and too many shows tries to emulate the style and fail. Chihayafuru gets my stamp of approval! Once you get past the childhood arc and into the tournament stuff it gets really good. I think after episode 8 the rest I zoomed right through it. Once you get how they show the tournaments and stuff you get used to the structure. The tournaments are the best since you get to see the side characters and that's what makes the show so funny. After episode 20 you can start feeling the pain unless you drop it before that because Chihaya is such a numbskull. | ||

I have not seen the other shows. A really big YES to Haruhi Suzumiya. . I really enjoyed the show has a very "interesting" female lead and the MC is a normal guy with curious mind so he is easily understandable. The plot is sci-fi and talks a lot about trivial things that doesn't normally gets highlight at all. The show is very popular i think it's LN has the most sales of all time i remember reading in good reads that it was on par in terms of sales of Harry Potter series idk about if it's legit though. You will either love haruhi or hate her. Usually the male majority worship her and from my experience my female friends fucking hate the character lol. I can't really vow that the show is very good in general since it has it's flaws especially the weird order of episodes but i know that the movie is really really really good. Pros: + Despite being a high school anime it does not have the commonly annoying "are you ok senpai" or "have you eaten your lunch". + Haruhi is a GOD + They don't talk about feelings a lot which is great so they talk about the most random shit ever! + Fanservice episodes are great and some are really random ! + The quality is not terrible Cons - Characters have no sense of shame that it is awkward for you at times - intro episode is amazing. - Haruhi is evil incarnate - Since they don't talk about feelings a lot they talk about the most random shit ever! - Plot development is scattered - At some point the show will fucking troll you so badly you have to be Bigfan to endure. You'll know what i mean. - Some episodes are just so fucking random it's bad (ep 00 i generally did not enjoy but give it a try) - A lot more There are 3 ways of watching the show and i recommend you watch it in Broadcast Order it is much more enjoyable than the chronological order surprisingly. There i tried to endorse the show in a non-biased way since it's one of my favorites. | ||
