midway through the episode, one of their classmates said that they can't allow another Isla and had to intervene but we didn't see any results of that so it seems like after he rescues Claire, something will go down in Balsteros? Does this mean a possible second season or did I overlook something? ![]()

The fights were pretty cool and everything that I thought would happen did+got some more story to go on :D + Show Spoiler + I actually hoped against an infinite loop lol. I mean, at some point you'll have to break it or otherwise they'll never be an ending and I figure that's what we(or me lol) and the author wants. I think Aoba figured it out but Dio didn't stop him since he made up his mind. The first time he saw her go through was him thinking about it it seems. I for one am glad that he caught her before she went back in time because I would hate to see the anime end with an infinite loop. It still does feel a bit odd to me that she defected to their side but considering he saved her twice, was there for her and he trusted her, that was enough to convince her that he cares about her and not that she's from Zogilia which is why she was able to couple with him even better than Dio did(>120% :O). Asides from that, being close friends with Bizon and co into defection but I'm glad she defected lol. I wonder how Bizon survived though. I mean, he got blasted and we can only presume he died or if not, he went back in time but then how did he come back after that? He's in a wheelchair and immobile so what does that mean? Hope we gets more explanations at some point because Bizon's case is a bit confusing lol.

Uta was right. The author sucks. The only things he has going for him is an interesting world and plane knowledge. The cast largely blew. Kal was stupid and his revenge and shit are never really addressed (and speaking of that, there were way too many flashbacks. Half the show was basically flashbacks). It just gets glossed over when he becomes a hikki. Claire has no personality. Ignacio was a walking cliche, but despite his cringeworthy stoicism, he was one of the few that actually understood a lot and got shit done. Ari was kind of a surprise. I thought she'd be some overly genki girl, but she actually turned out to be reasonably thoughtful, and above all, perceptive. I can't stress that part enough. A lot of the characters in the show (and also in many other shows, I suppose) are so oblivious that they hardly seem like people at all. Kal being the prince? She knows, because all the clues are there. Claire being Nina Viento? Another obvious one, and nobody knows but her. It's always nice having competent characters. The rest of the cast got no screentime and was largely irrelevant. I couldn't even bring myself to care when they went on suicide missions. Shoutout to the adults for actually being pretty awesome despite having zero screentime. Similar to Remembrance, there was not one, but two(!!!) faceless aces. In Remembrance, he was a major antagonist. Here? They didn't do anything plot relevant. I don't know why they even existed. It was really odd every time Kal made a big fuss about their emblems, because they always ended up doing nothng. The romance was straight up bad. It was just love at first sight. That's it. I can't even think of any other developments in the relationship between Claire and Kal. Hell, Remembrance did the whole childhood friend drivel, and it still ended up being better than what we got here. Ari's romance was hinted at here and there, so I'm mostly ok with it. The reveal at the end felt largely unnecessary, since it felt like the author was trying to bash the point into my face by then, but I'll give it a pass because it had pretty words. I guess it also helps that I like that whole tragic self-sacrificing bit when it's done well (hi Akiha). Deus ex machina was out in force in the last few episodes. Kal the super ace. The Holy Levamme Empire exists solely to resolve potential plot issues (such as "how do we get home?"). On that note, the existence of the Sky Clan seems to only serve as a convenient way to introduce faceless enemies. Finally, the "brilliant" plan for overthrowing the gov't was actually quite dumb. The masses may love drama, but they're also very forgetful and apathetic. Animation-wise, the show was passable. There were a lot of strange quality issues (the hat throwing in the last ep was reeeally bad) too. The show was also pretty when it wanted to be. Uta also says that these books are standalone, so I don't know why the author bothered putting in a bunch of pointless and poorly conceived sequel hooks at the end. CONTACT THE MOTHERLAND. tl;dr, the story is really bad. If you want this sort of shit, Remembrance is far superior. At least Remembrance has a coherent plot.

That really was an incredibly amazing watch. If there's more people out there who haven't watched it yet, certainly check it out. I mean, I've got 3 things as 9 or better in my MAL and they're Bake, Mono-2 and now Madoka. It really was an incredibly interesting watch if you look past the first 1 or maybe 2 episodes that bored me somewhat, but that (imo) was part of the whole experience as well, luring you into thinking the show's something else. Obviously assuming you don't know about it beforehand. Now to watch the Movies and see if they're equally good, worse or better. And yes I'm aware of the fact that it's pretty much the same thing.

Was not as good as I remembered it to be. Think it was pandering to the late night otaku community too much and its philosophy sounded much more like a Paul Coelho book than a coherent and well thought out sophisticated piece. Kind of disappointed actually. Maybe it was the wine.
