Kids are insecure and shy if you aren't straight up and blunt with them most of the time they're like "derrrr". Though, in anime it's always made to look way worse, but on some level I can relate. I understand that but theres a limit to how beta you can be.

People don't stop being dense when they leave school either. It's just that when you are dense you want to watch non-dense people. Media is more about reflecting a fantasy of life than actual life.

In most cases the idea of wanting something "better than yourself" is indeed a very attractive sales point for media but in this case I would definitively say that it isn't the correct assumption to make.

It's an oversimplification and generalization of course. It's not an incorrect assumption but it's also not the complete truth. Many people read romantic books because they want romance while not having it in their life but at the same time many people read them for other reasons. The same principle applies here. The statement is from my specific view as a dense person without much romance lol

I figure he'll eventually run out of trollish things to do or that they'll start losing customers or something due to people being sick of having those moments. Given, I'm assuming things here but still, valid reasons imo. On March 31 2014 20:33 BLinD-RawR wrote: Kishi has no self respect, well the alternative is that he doesn't know how to end it, which is pathetic. I think it's harder to end such a long running manga like Naruto. I mean, he's been writing it for 10+ years, it's gotten to be really popular like dbz etc... so he's invested so much time into it and knows that there is a possibility that his next manga doesn't become as popular if he even decides to make another one. That and he's obviously making quite the bank from it so why stop now? Even those who have had it with some parts of Naruto are still reading it because they want to see it through to the end.

+ Show Spoiler + And finished it too. Now I'm gonna wall of text about it.+ Show Spoiler + I thought it turned from meh/readable-but-only-just to absolutely incredible towards the last half/third. It was the most well executed manga of it's type (romcom/drama) during that last half that I've experienced in animu or mango form... quite possibly ever if it weren't for Solanin. I'd recommend it immensely if you can handle the explicit interactions and give them their proper weight in the development of it all. I can see how the s&m/boatload of other fetishes and admittedly poorly done fanservice would turn most off, including myself, but I stuck with it anyways for some reason and I'm glad I did. Not long in did I begin it completely ignore all of the fanservice that wasn't a result of interactions of the two main characters (and even then I didn't care as much for the dickteasing than I did for the dialouge, surpisingly). All the elements apart from the sexual ones just felt so real in comparison to anything else I've read/seen of the type. The character development and relationship development aspects were particularly on-point. I started out not really caring for either of the two main characters (in fact disliking them a bit), but they pretty quickly grew on me as the manga progressed. The interactions of the club don't stray too far from being completely realistic (almost unsettlingly so; I could imagine having a lot of these conversations/dumb ideas with my friends when I was in high school and even today, or at least a lot more so than 99% of the other shit out there) and the banter was entertaining most of the time. The plot takes a intense but really subtle turn of events around halfway through when the reader figures out, more or less on his own, that the previously briefly mentioned chronic sickness that Kurumi suffers from is going to be a major plot point, and this is where the story starts to shine. The story shifts from Aiba trying to "get the girl" (aka generic romcom forced drama blah blah) to both of the protagonists realizing and coming to terms with the inevitable, and how they both try to cope by supporting each other through it while simultaneously managing to ignore it. The way I am, I constantly place questionable emotions and tones into what I read, and I don't know that's what I was experiencing or if it was the author's doing, but things really started to get intense, and tears were shed. I've never really actually cried reading a mango or watching an animu apart from the occasional manly and accepting single tear from the very corner of my eye, but I was in waterworks over this for whatever reason. Started softly when I thought I knew what was gonna happen, got worse when I realized that the doctor was actually a doctor and not some dude who was forcing sex on Kurumi, got really really bad when they both realize it and they know they do, and then I was more or less sobbing uncontrollably through the last volume. I was using every last ounce of hope in my body that there was just gonna be a dues ex machina at the end and everything would be alright, but then I wouldn't like it nearly as much and I wouldn't be wasting my time writing this. That was a first for me but it was pretty kool; crying like a 5 year old through scenes that are supposed to get people hard was interesting. Art in general wasn't bad, but there were a few panels and pages that were really just incredible for me and that I spent a good few minutes each at admiring. In particular, the last page before the time skip, the page where Kurumu said "I love you" and two adjacent panels in a bath scene were really emotionally charged (whether that emotion came from myself or was per the mangaka's intentions is irrelevant to me) and "beautiful" (even though I don't really like using that word). So there's my rant about another anime or manga that's probably not nearly as good as I'm seeing it. but whatever yo oh also, real talk: the scanlations to the last volume sprouted cancer in my visual cortex

I am all caught up on Nisekoi anime and the Sekirei anime seasons have been over for a long time (and I doubt they will animate anymore). oh ya Hulu, forgot about that one lol. Crunchyroll supposedly had delays and a lot of problems in the past, guessing that's fixed now? We mostly have Netflix up here unless Hulu was introduced up here and I had no clue about it lol.

The characters a brilliant and the story drags you along the moment you start figuring out how things stick together. + Show Spoiler + The whole inevitability of the ending is done brilliantly. And I'm really glad it ended the way it did and did not go for some silly cop out.
