Dandy has alot of throwbacks and references that alot of people will find obscure. Its more a show by Watanabe for Watanabe more than anyone else. Its one of those attempts at moving anime from being commercial product thats formulaic and caters to market demands. Hes been successful with Champloo but this one will be harder for people to grasp since parodying shit like Flash Gordon isnt going to hit any notes with like literally everyone. It was brutal that i was the only one defending it lol . I was so indulged to say "you don't understand the deep meaning of haruhi's sadness and eccentrity" lol but most male viewers liked it anyways.. | ||
