Hiromi was someone who hid her feelings for him for other reasons and who he grew up with as a childhood friend. So much for childhood friends not ending up together in anime.
Nothing felt more infuriating to me than seeing Nakagami act like an idiot at the end infront of Noe especially when he went on about loving Hiromi after he tried to destroy his story book. He was balling his fucking eyes out even as she limped away back to the hospital and that crying was because his heart was shaken. Because he knew that he was leaving Noe. I would even go as far to say that once he met Noe, more on his thoughts or at least the same amount of thoughts were on her, just like with Hiromi. I still can't believe that this is how they decided to end it. I was so confident at one point that he'll end up with Noe based on how Hiromi was acting and things were moving then instead, they pull a total 180 in the last episode or two and it's like everything he did with Noe was forgotten.
I was frustrated with other animes before but this one takes the cake. How, I don't even understand anymore ><; Maybe I should just root for the main love interest of the main character since they always end up with them. Before Toradora gets brought up, at least in that one, we've seen Taiga take central stage and barely any time with Minori or Ami. More time in anime = more chances of development and such. We saw just as much with both Hiromi and Noe and got teased hard that maybe, just maybe he'll end up with Noe seeing as their relationship was going well and he developed strong feelings for her. Heck, he even got past his fears due to her. I dunno, just feels really frustrating to write this.
you have to change your mindset: best girl never wins = best girl remains avaibable xD 純愛! Wish I had this mindset lol. Guessing you agreed with what I wrote? To add on: + Show Spoiler +It's true he was forced to be with Noe at one point due to her brother making that contract with him but the love that developed between them felt more natural compared to some really old crush that stayed with Nakagami. He never even gave reasons for why he loved her other than he loved her smile apparently. Hiromi asking Noe to leave them alone at the festival made me facepalm. I mean cmon, think before you speak lol. Also, Nakagami telling Hiromi that it'll be busy and that she doesn't have to force herself to watch felt like he didn't care as much. I mean within the same episode, he tld her not to force herself to watch much then left her alone and went looking for Noe instead. Almost felt like he indirectly rejected her for Noe even if that wasn't the case Btw, TankLoveR, if you read this, can't believe you actually liked how True Tears ended and you were complaining about Toradora ending the way it did lol. At least, in Toradora, everything pointed towards the appropriate ending while True Tears was more like: + Show Spoiler +I'm gonna have this crush for x years and then even though there's someone else who actually grew to love me and who has bettered my life in both work(drawing) and getting me motivated(dance, etc...), that doesn't matter. What matters is some old crush over someone who kept denying that they love me and made me go through pain. The person never bothered to show interest as if I never mattered to them unless someone else started to do so For the record, I didn't completely hate the anime. I thought the art was good and the characters were all unique and had good personalities. I was just majorly disappointed by the ending because I felt that there wasn't as much build up to it as the other ending which to me, felt like it should've been the one the anime ended with. Read the spoilers in my previous post for the details. Maybe I liked it because I didn't just sit there whining like a little girl about it? . I just liked it, there really was nothing bad about the ending in my opinion. Just because you got tricked into thinking the wrong girl would "win" doesn't mean that should be the ending. Pffft there is nothing appropriate about Taiga, she was a dumb character and in reality an infant compared to everyone else lol. I didn't like Tora's ending because I didn't think Taiga was a good character, not because I liked Minori or Ami better, I would have preferred they "won" but anyone besides Taiga would have been enough. At least in True Tears they gave both girls an even playing field and the guy picked one, in Tora's case Ryuji didn't even know there were other girls after a while. + Show Spoiler +He spent too much time hung up on Hiromi? and put up with too much family drama to just drop it, I don't think he would have gone through all that bs with his mom and his dad, oh she's my sister? WTF? that's why my mom hates her wtf? Oh she's not my sister? I guess mom is just a cunt then. If he didn't like Hiromi and liked Noe instead he would have dropped the investigation long ago and could care less. I don't see how Now is "best girl" she was fine but not "best" or whatever, they were both fine character. She was weird and obviously had some issues specially with her brother <.<, sure you can say the guy really liked her and blah blah he grew blah blah or whatever you want to say. But at the end of the day you like who you like and no amount of "Noes" will change that. I felt worse for the redhead than for Noe lol, don't really remember being all brokenhearted because he picked Hiromi, I agreed with his pick and thought it was very emotional. I may have cried a bit as well , then again that was years ago when I watched this as it was airing, imagine watching this week after week being all omg omg omg wtf did just happen !? and having to wait a fucking week lol. Overall I don't remember every fucking detail so I can't give you a big rant about the why's and how's of things specifically but I remember liking it and still feeling the same about it. One thing I don't get is, since when are relationships easy? just because they showed Noe being all positive and with very few bumps on the road doesn't mean she was super easy going and awesome or the "best choice". Relationships are tough and filled with fights and difficulties, if you're picking Noe just because she seemed "easier" to be with then that's the wrong reason. You're basically picking her because she's the "taiga" of this show, fuck this old crush (Minori/Hiromi) pick the newer and awesomer girl (Taiga/Noe) dude. Hiromi acted different towards him because they had a different relationship, I mean that whole family mess was enough and when you have that cunt telling you to gtfo all the time while you live in the same house with the guy you like you're not exactly dying to go jump on his bed after all that bullying should I remind you of your Suzuka rant? lol. We knew what Toradora was aiming for from the first episode, there were no secrets or surprise episodes that said otherwise. + Show Spoiler +We got a lot of Taiga in the anime, much much more than either Minori or Ami so it's not surprising what the end result was imo. There was nothing wrong with Taiga's character lol. You're just being bias because Minor or Ami didn't win even if you say otherwise + Show Spoiler +Yes, I know he spent time hung up on her but that's my point. It almost felt like an obsession at one point. My point is simple. He wanted to protect her and make sure she's fine. That's all good, I agree. Get her to smile again etc... It just felt like he liked her mostly from his earlier crush which dragged on. His mom was being ridiculous. Made me wonder why they allowed her to go so far. He liked both, I never denied that part. Noe was a bit weird but if you listen to her background stories, you can see what she means. It's like she talks in secret code that you need to interpret and such but the message makes sense at the end. My point is, I don't think he liked Himori as much as Noe. You haven't watched the anime recently so I can't fault you for not remembering how much he balled his eyes out at the end when he decided to reject her. He honestly looked demented. To me, almost felt like he was saying he loved Himori and trying to prove it to himself. Noe is such a nice person and I think they wanted to show that she changed so she started to see other people's emotions which is why she accepted his decision and started to make her own decisions from that point. She still looked at his written message to her though, that he likes her from when they started dating so she obviously likes him still but is trying to be strong. Ya, weeks after weeks must be rough but again, I don't think week after week would be that bad.
I never said easier. I said more compatible. He loved Noe, she loved him and their relationship grew very naturally. To me, I saw their relationship in a much better light than his and Himori which felt like it was due to an old crush even though she supposedly liked him from a while back. I never disagreed on that part. Mostly saying that I think he should've stuck by Noe because she was the one who truly made his heart shake. cmon, I know you don't remember but when was the last time he cried so badly for Himori? If you have time, take a quick peek at the last episode when they are in the small bus station or w/e it was. You can TELL he was literally fighting himself to say no because it LOOKED like he was thinking that it was a mistake. To me, that was enough to say that he rejected Noe just due to his old crush that he was hung up on and it disappoints me that the show went in that direction when it could've went in another, totally different and imo better direction. I was actually cheering for him and Himori to end up together at one point but once Noe entered the equation and I saw how happy she was with him and his feelings growing towards her, I couldn't help but feel that she was the one most compatible to him. This whole idea of having to stick to the older love interest gets tiresome really fast in some of these animes. At least in Toradora, that changed and it wasn't like a static rule that always has to happen. Oh I'm sorry, it seems like you DIDN'T read my Suzuka rant, so I can see why you would confuse me being angry over that over your whining about Noe. I didn't like the WHOLE fucking thing, it sucked, the characters had little to no reason for even being alive other than eye fucking each other apparently, they were useless turds who just did things just because not because they had goals or ambition and when they did the anime ignored them. You really can't compare that to you being mad Noe didn't get picked. It didn't matter who the guy in Suzuka picked, I would have hated it either way. I just don't like Taiga, that's my whole issue with the show, if you want to assume I just wanted Ami or Minori to win then whatever. Not like I discussed that to death. + Show Spoiler +I do remember the scene you're referring to, how could I forget that scene? of ALL the things that happened that's the one I remember the most. Your logic is flawed though, Oh he cried a lot so that means he cared more about one over the other because he doesn't cry that much about the other one.... I don't cry when it comes to girls, do I just not care? You would have a hard time deciding if and who I care about the most in this scenario then if this is all you're basing this on. What I'm saying is about Noe is that they mostly showed the good parts of a relationship with her, when you first meet someone is awesome and you think it will last forever blah blah bs, but it doesn't, problems start to crop up and what not. The guy was too young they were all really young, so of course they were going to cry their eyes out in these situations a break up is never easy when you're a kid. The situation with Noe was a bit biased because they showed the good bits, with Hiromi they had to go through that fucking hurdle with the parents and what not, that lady was a fucking cunt seriously, the father is also to blame for not doing anything oh yeah it's cool bully the poor girl... fucker. So of course you can say "Well their relationship isn't as good as his relationship with Noe because they don't look happy"... but that's dumb. He liked Hiromi and was willing to having to FIX all that crap and misunderstandings before being in a relationship with her, Noe was just a "rebound" a transition between his relationship with Hiromi, simple as that. I'm not saying he didn't love her, he did but she wasn't obviously the end goal in his mind. I don't think he regret anything, when you make these types of decisions you always doubt yourself, I can see why someone might be immediately regretful about something but saying "Oh he cried a lot so that means he regrets breaking up with her" is just not the case here, he was just sad, it was a sad situation for both parts regardless and their age didn't help. In the end the relationship with Noe seemed better because they didn't have baggage and all that past he had with Hiromi, I'm sure if they showed you what happens next with Hiromi after the show ends, he would look just as happy since they finally got over what was stopping them. You had to think how much that lady affected Hiromi, I mean didn't her parents die or something? and this lady was supposed to be the mother figure now but she spends all her time literally bullying her, how can anyone not be depressed. They had to clear all of that, fix their relationship before she could really think about the guy and all of that. I liked the ending, I thought it made sense he ended with Hiromi, not because he just had an old crush but because that was the girl he REALLY liked. Tears mean nothing you're mistaken. I read it really fast but yes, that's what I got from it. I was mostly commenting on: "Maybe I liked it because I didn't just sit there whining like a little girl about it? ." lol. You brought this on yourself + Show Spoiler +He asks his father prior to that when he cries. The answer: when the heart is shaken. To me, it was confirmation that he felt something very strongly for her. This is from the anime, not making this up although the last bit is my interpretation of it. I'm using what is in the anime to determine that he loved her a lot and that, it was on par or greater than Himori. yes, I know they showed the good parts but they could've showed the bad ones if they wanted to. I don't think it's a good idea to use that against the point that Noe would've been a better person to end up with him based on what we saw. I never said their relationship was worse. As I previously mentioned, I thought he liked them both equally and that he ended up with Himori only because of how older his love for her was(his crush).
Maybe originally, Noe was a rebound when he was having problems with Hiromi and since he thought he was doing Hiromi a favour since he got her to date Noe's brother but then he learned to love her for who she is. Always thinking of her even when he was talking to Hiromi. I think we're both being selective lol. Even when he went with Hiromi to the beach, he was thinking of Noe throughout lol. Maybe she wasn't the end goal but I honestly think he was really considering Noe and chose Hiromi because of the crush, because he was hung up on it for so long. Yes, you're right. Part of breaking up is fighting the tears and such.
I think you're missing my point: I think he would've been happy with either one but if I had to chose an ending based on what we saw, I feel that Noe was the better fit because I felt that he was truly thinking of her more and their love developed properly? Not sure what the term is. Him thinking of Himori was more akin to being obsessed with her from the past imo. It's like when you think back to your first love(look at capped's blog in the blog section) even though you should've moved on. It'll happen and I think that heavily impacted his decision making. You're right, mother was horrible and she changed Himori's to a worse person although she kinda recovers. Again, not disagreeing that the family situation has to be fixed but I found that he was thinking more about Noe as time passed and less about Himori until like the last episode when he told her that she always win after she told him to face them both. I guess the only consolation is that Noe accepted his decision because she 'saw' Himori in his heart. I do feel not talking to her again(at least ending of last episode) was a punch to the face though lol. Thanks for the discussion which reminds me that I still need to respond to your WA2 giant rant >.> To be honest I posted that because I was literally outraged and furious, I've felt more at ease in "bad" real life situations that should have caused that reaction lol. It made me REALLY angry, I didn't think I whined, I made good points about the problems with the show and why it was terrible. I wasn't just whining about something a small portion of the show like who sleeps with who. I really liked True Tears though, I rewatch it every now and then like I do with AnoHanna/Beck/Nodame and Cowboy Bebop . I remember my last gf thought it was silly the ending made me cry a little D:, then again people too much older than me don't tend to get anime and just see it as cartoons so whatever. STILL HAD A SAD ENDING! /TEARS!. Yeah you better get to typing that reply, it took me like an hour to reply to all your stuff and compile it together lol really quite a few details we discussed. I still haven't really written anything about the last episode, to be honest I'm having doubts about what I saw and I'm thinking how the fact that they knew from the get go that they each liked Haruki affected what happened after that up until the performance.. I never expected that. dodged my True Tears response! D: lol. It's ok, I understand. I've also gotten angry before at something I watched but usually, you calm down after a bit so I wouldn't worry lol. ya, you make good points but tbh, from the summary, it sounded like typical romcom anime to me although maybe not well done and dare I say obnoxious? Main guy likes x girl, she has other stuff to deal with/doesn't like him but grows to like him/has feelings for him then 10+ or 20+ episodes later, they finally get closer for whatever odd reason and fast forward to the end where one of them confesses to the other/accepts them etc... lol. Well, ignoring what I felt was a wasted chance and good buildup, True Tears wasn't bad or anything. Just disappointing lol. I think most seem anime as cartoons so they don't give them a chance, meh doesn't matter to me lol.
it took me over 40 minutes or so to write that reply to your wall of text as well lol. I say we are even I think there was a hint or rather back in the restaurant(will have to rewatch to double check) they had the same convo shown but we didn't pick up on it. I don't think it was anything new? I could be wrong though. Well, either way, we know that + Show Spoiler +Setsuna took the first step though. Touma didn't for whatever reason although it's likely because he called her a person and Setsuna a girl lol.

The music was good, the story ok with a lackluster finale.

I think it's wonderful, it was directed by Shinichiro Watanabe who directed Cowboy Bebop and other stuff. I liked the story, I guess people wanted something else but I think the story was about the music first and the romance stuff second. Not to the degree Beck was, but close enough. I would recommend it to anyone, for the music alone deserves a recommendation.

Lol nah I wasn't trying to avoid anything, just we obviously have different views about who did what and why. I think the ending is fine as it is and I don't think it's because he let some old crush "hold him back" from Noe. He liked who he liked and he was heartbroken after breaking up with his first gf, I know I was the first time that happened . I've never been that angry before to be honest lol, I'm usually pretty passive except for the odd anime that gets some tears out of me that's the biggest reaction I've had for an anime. Though I was really annoyed with how Death Note ended, not that it matters + Show Spoiler +since the show ended when L died, so regardless of me wanting Kira to win it didn't matter once we didn't have L around anymore . I don't know what you were expecting from the plot summary lol, they are all like that and I think they worked with what they had better than most shows, certainly better than Toradora . Of that type of shows I've watched I felt Hiromi and whatever his name is had a future after the show it ended so I never felt annoyed there wasn't more content. I feel that's mostly older people lol, never met 20 year olds who were like EW you watch anime? my ex was 10 years older than me, so it was to be expected? I remember she said she thought anime was just about Pokemon Lol.
Lol yeah it takes a while to read all of that, sometimes I get lost and don't know what you were replying to so I have to reread to what you're replying to lol. Maybe there was but I totally missed it, I mean yeah the whole train thing happened but I thought that was a moment of silence I didn't expect the train to "hide" a conversation. Their faces certainly didn't show that serious of a conversation.
+ Show Spoiler + Yeah basically that's what happened, Setsuna takes the first round, she delivered the first punch and she takes it. I think Touma COULD HAVE done something before that conversation but she didn't, like she said she's never been in love before so I don't think she was sure what to do (Maybe she assumed Haruki would take the first step?). Setsuna did because well she's Setsuna and she's a lot more confident, she wanted Haruki and since he didn't make the first move she went ahead and did it herself ( I have to admit I liked that about her :o, I like girls who do that lol ). I think Haruki said that because she REALLY respects Touma because of how awesome she is, which I don't think implies he wouldn't have feelings for her but Haruki is so fucking wishy washy about this I hate him a little lol CONFESS TO SOMEONE YOU DICK!. I think we have to hear it from Haruki to see who ends up with who and who ENDS UP WITH A DEPRESSED LOOK AT A TRAIN STATION :p. Really want to see the after effects in the next episode, if Haruki starts acting all boyfriendy then I guess we have our answer.
Start replying man, we're spreading the conversation in several replies lol. You're going to hit the character limit with just your reply to all the stuff we've said about the last episode and the reply to the great wall of text of ch..white album 2 .

As for the 2 in WA...doesn't look anything alike frankly. Your completely blind if you don't think they look alike. Especially the Kirika one, that goes far beyond just looking alike into "that is Kirika wtf". Eh if we are going to count similar hair designs and ignore all stylistic differences? Sure. But cameos tend to be immediately recognizable rather than warping the style and coloring as much as that. Honestly both cases that you mentioned feels more like they are lazy with designs and just copied whatever they had handy, that and anime designs have a way to be pretty similar to one another. Ver kind of boils down to that crazy scientist look that we have a shitton of. Similar hair design? You mean the exact same, right? With the only difference at all being color, right? And the only other non-hair difference being Symphogear girls wearing those glasses as disguises for half an episode, and clothes, right?

2nd Worst City in CA8938 Posts
So last night I started and caught up with Golden Time. Overall an enjoyable show but I have some major problems regarding the story, mainly dealing with the MC and Linda.
Oh well, it's a show I'll continue watching. I walked in with too high expectations but at least it's not a bad show.

Oh by the way BigFan I found a couple of animes you might want to check out, they are REALLY long romance type animes. Marmalade Boy (76 episodes) + movie and Kodocha (102 episodes).
Now a question to everyone else who might have seen these, do any of these 2 shows have useless one dimensional characters that make the story pointless like Suzuka or are they better? Tell me they are before I watch 102 episodes worth of stuff .

Kirika clone = agreed, it's pretty damned similar except for the hair colour. The other two, not really.

Seriously what studios throw in shameless cameos only to change hair color and design style lol.
