The world seems so realistic, all the caracters look complex, toughfull, some have their own quircks or are very intelligent. I'm very happy about every caracter presented, everybody seemed to have a role, everybody seemed to have something that defines them. I really like inspector Lunge at the moment, i'm interested to see how he will develop from now on, if he will recognise his mistake. The story is also interesting, i love the way the time skips/skipped, i think it's just me being tired of 14 year olds saving the world...

Monster is one of the best things Ive ever seen. When it comes to character handling nearly nothing can touch it imo.

I dunno ; sometimes movies can be standalone. Like the gundam 00 movie ; I think it could be watched as standalone

Don't worry, since you're only half-way through the anime it isn't surprising that you have lots of questions; they will explain everything near the end because it is a pretty fucking big revelation.
Like everyone said, the characters of Monster are so fleshed out and thoroughly presented that the whole world seems very realistic. Keep on watching! :D

i watched both and i felt the same thing, the world presented in them seems the same, and the animation of s1 of gunslinger girl looks alot like the animation for monster ...

I remember Aoyama said he had the ending ready already, and that was probably 7-8 years ago. So he is just milking it for all its worth.
Actually it's not that bad, I read Oishinbo in like 2 week or so and that was 95~ vol at the time.

Still, I actually don't want it to end. Detective Conan has been ongoing for like what? 20 years soon?
It's a feel-good manga where you get a refreshing pace compared to all the shounen battle mangas and romance dramas that clutter the manga-world. I actually don't think he has reused a single case in the whole story and I'm always looking forward to every new problem. It's like the morning papers, you just want it to be there so that you can access it at any point in time.
