PA Works? Must watch. Anyway, I already have a picture of what to expect from this show - it'll be incredibly boring if it turns out the way I think it will. The general exploration involving "sheltered and misunderstood people" gets old after a while, although I have high hopes. I'm guessing Suzuhara and Sagara will be super-duper-lovey-dovey-best-friends by the end of the show, and that Suzuhara will become an independent person through a series of previously unexpected events. Good animation, character design and music. What could possibly go wrong? Also, the characters are identical to Tari Tari characters. There's even a Sawa. | ||

Seki can mean a number of things in Japanese, such as rock, seat, or gate. In the quoted anime, it means seat, so the title means something like "The guy in the seat next to me." Seki is also one of the IDs of the illustrious Utahime "Southlight" Nightseternal. A lot of people here have seen 5cm. Some swear by it as one of the saddest works in anime, some swear by it as scenery porn, some go meh. For me some of the art is worth saving, though ultimately the drama is nothing to write home about. I watched R.O.D the TV 6 or 7 years ago. It was unremarkable. The story follows 3 sisters, not Yomiko Readman, so you might be disappointed there. | ||

Sasami's done now, and it was rather disappointing. Sometimes I feel like the better Shaft's art gets, the worse their shows become. Or maybe they just need to pick up weirder shit. | ||

Well, Mushi to Medama (also by Akira) is much weirder than Sasami (which is actually a pretty straightforward story if you strip out the silliness). I wouldn't mind seeing that in anime. | ||
