EDIT: I thougth the second season was great though, a bit slow in the start but it caught up and at least I thought it was well worth the watch.

I have the feeling it might've just been better to leave it at the first season. Is it worth watching the second? I felt that the first gameof the second season is the best, at least as a game. E-Card is better for a purely psychological enjoyment though. And I do agree on the part of that if you cannot feel with Kaiji and his "pals", it gets very hard. Also the last game is very very long but I can honestly say that I have never ever cared as much about balls than watching that. THe stuff they pull is pretty awesome. Not to mention that Ichijou is the most moe FKMT villain ever. And dat OP. @solidbebe I think if you do not watch the second season, the final part of S1 will lose a lot of its power. It is one of the strongest moments for sure, even including the "third" arc.

was able to reattach his ear and fingers was explained at the start of season 2. He went further into debt when the mafia group reattached his ears and fingers for him.

Did I mention Crest itself was from like the late 80s? The series is a space drama with a focus on a few characters, they just happen to be important enough for you to get a glimpse of the universe. That said, the character interaction between Lafiel and Jinto has more or less finished developing by Banner 3 with Jinto now pretty much done. So with 4 we get one more view point and more things happening with the universe to shake things up a bit. Then you know, 9 year break. We'll see next month how the series develops. if by late 80s u mean 1996, then yes this eca real olde yeah a lot of character development has happened, now bak to the war

Noriko was able to help her onee-sama come to her senses during the climax when she used to cling to others like Smith. For some reason I expected Kazumi to be related to Coach instead of romantically involved and that she was just hiding the relationship. The series hints Noriko might have feelings for Coach too, but they are never expressed except in some reactions when Noriko is talking to Amano about Coach or maybe I'm just reading too much into it. It was really weird for the last episode to be in black and white, but I didn't mind too much. The ending where Noriko and Amano spent time equivalent to 12,000 years I'll just have to take the series word for that makes sense. It did make for another bitter sweet ending which seem to be more enjoyable than a pure happy ending. Some things still bother me about Gunbuster's universe like the standard mechs which are equipped with only metal rods? When they were introduced I thought they were just for training purposes like Amano's duel with Jung, but the mechs seem to have no projectile based weapons while Gunbuster is a flying arsenal. Started watching Gunbuster 2 and wow that series is a lot more moe than Gunbuster 1. Maid outfit, main character making cute expressions and attempting to work the nudity into the story. It also is pretty weird with the Nono and Onee-sama's abilities but I assume that will be explained.

It also is pretty weird with the Nono and Onee-sama's abilities but I assume that will be explained. The standard mech also have missiles (I think they were nuclear) equipped on them, IIRC. They were strapped to the mech's back in Episode 3. Their rods are miniature Buster Colliders, where they stab something and then electrocute whatever got stabbed (you see this in episode 4). I assume effective lasers are too big to equip on the smaller mechs, thus why they don't have any on them. + Show Spoiler + As for the ending, Time Dilation had been a major focus throughout the show, just taken to the logical extreme with what happened with the Black Hole Bomb. The "Welcome Home" was great, made me tear up a bit. Episode 6 being black and white was an artistic decision, although not sure why they went that way. And yeah, Diebuster is fairly different in style, alot of FLCL in it, which I guess can be explained due to the difference in time between the two series. Nono and Lal'C's abilities are explained, you will see. Its ending is great, though. I guess it is a lot more "moe" by modern conventions, lol. But back in the 80s, Gunbuster itself was considered that too. It was first anime to introduce bouncing breasts as a form of fan-service. Gainex gonna Gainex.
