As far as horror, yes, I think it was quiet horrifying. I'd personally not recommend it because horror isn't too much my cup of tea, but I still gave it a 7, which is pretty good.
Oh! I read GOTH yesterday, that might be a good horror story too if you want to check it out...though I guess it's less horror than it is dark/disturbing/psychological.

I want to say thank you all for the answers, I'm gonna give most the recommendations a shot!

Goth is pretty legit, though it's more towards Uta/Spazer territory (not sure what else to call it, if you know what they like you'll understand zzzzz) than actual horror.
Then again I am usually not too impressed by most horror since no immersion.

Goth or GOTH? Google couldn't pinpoint the show you're talking about..

It's a manga.

How can manga scare you? Do you like read it fullscreen, or maybe on your ipad with all the lights out? Just curious
|
Do you ever think? Do you ever immerse into something you read/watch?
It feels like the answer in your case is no, else it'd be pretty obvious.
Though in fairness like i qq'd about manga/anime can be pretty shit for immersion.

When you're watching something, you get more easily immersed because stuff is happening on it's own and you have no control over it, When you're reading horror, at least the book is firmly in your hands and you probably have nothing else going on, helping you immerse. I think it would be harder reading manga because you have to click every few seconds (which I'd say isn't really enough to break immersion, but it doesn't help unlike in the other 2 possibilities) and you probably have other tabs open and stuff. So I was wondering if you read it with your tablet or something. No need to insult me.

Can paintings evoke a certain emotion of anxiety/fear/sadness/other negative emotion in you? Or better yet, any picture in general.
I think certain manga like Uzumaki were just freaky enough (complemented by the drawings) to evoke that kind of feeling.

Uzumaki was disturbing. Not scary. Getting a rush or thrill from a Manga/book/picture ect. is pretty hard and Im pretty sure thats what hes talking about

With manga, you might have other tabs and stuff open. With books you might have people around you/<insert anything that could possibly happen here> be going on. I'm not really sure if you are being serious or not.

Turning the page definitely breaks immersion less (at least for me, I guess) than clicking with a mouse. Who would read horror with lights/people around them? I also feel much more easily immersed by paper rather than a lit, electronic screen..

What's this "book" thing people keep talking about? You mean kindle?

Get a decent manga reader and download the manga.
And while you still need to click, it makes it a lot easier. Imo needing to click can even influence it even more if you actually do get to the point where you get "scared". It's a very interesting feeling when you sit there and hesitate to click because you got too into what's going on. Sadly it does not occur a lot with manga.
If you meant something else, then say something else. Don't just spout out a comment which just begs to be taken the wrong way.You make it sound like one needs to amplify things to ridiculous extent when reading manga in order to truly be immersed.
Edit: Ragz_gt, Ecael will come for your head soon if you don't take back that comment. ;o

I apologize. Did not realize the comment would be taken that way. Thanks for answering, too, it makes more sense now. My other question still stands, though; for anyone with a tablet, do you feel more immersed reading it with that or on a monitor?

gotta go hardcore yo i should correct myself that I meant with little light (i.e. everything but the book is dark in a perfect situation, this can be achieved by a little light behind you)

Seems pretty sad to spend alot of time on stuff that doesnt really allow one to immerse.
