Now that the series has advanced, I'm watching it while skipping all of the fillers. I'm quickly becoming bored of all the color commentary and fighting, so basically the entire show.
I'm sick of watching an Arrancar release their sword and waiting for the opposing shinigami to say "Oh, their speed increased." 10 seconds of garbage later they block an attack and say, "Oh, their power increased." Every single fight. Another recurring theme is, "Let me take 30 seconds to explain my abilities to you (even though viewers have already seen them) so that you can escape my binding technique instead of just killing you and moving on with the story" Only to have the Hollow respond with, "Why didn't you just kill me?"
Because of this horribly boring and drawn out style of writing, I want to see some more down to earth, no bullshit, I'm-going to-fucking-kill-that-guy-because-he's-my-enemy-and-not-waste-time-talking-to-him action. Very limited occurrence of ability explanation. Bleach/Naruto explain the same shit a dozen times - totally unnecessary.
tldr; I want an anime with action that isn't bloated with unnecessary dialogue and out of place humor. Recommendations?
Then skip to the last fight between Ichigo and Aizen after 'loltimeskipintunnel' and watch that fight. Pretty sick fight although it completely fucked up the anime/manga after that l0l.

Mami? Though TBH all of them got a raw deal. The DEM ending is kinda lame but otherwise interesting series.
I thought it was so good (the ending that is) until she...
Also, just finished the serie. Not sure what my feelings are about the ending. But it was definitely a great show. Kept me in the story. I had a hard time at some point deciding who was the bad guy + Show Spoiler +
the animal or Homura who was so mysterious
How could you possibly mistake Homura... she is like the stereotypical misunderstood girl.

Hellsing Ultimate OVA and Black Lagoon do the just kill people thing very well.
This is ADT and you're Emnjay and most people here don't particularly care for you (you even have a FT quote in your sig. just sayin'), though that's actually a pretty funny mix-up :D
On one hand that idea has always been floating around not only in my mind but in the minds of people everywhere for decades because it's pretty damn awesome, but on the other hand we really could hit a video generation age and have productivity just plummet. Maybe if there were some way to achieve restful sleep while in the video game but still, it would probably be panned as escapism (because that's what it is, and it's also meta-escapism in the sense of self-insertion into MC etc).

Ya, I was thinking what if in 100 years we turn into a cyber population... meaning everything we do for the most part.. is done in VR? Scary thought. >_>
Augmented reality is already a real, progressing thing. I don't think you'll see VR but you'll certainly see AR take off in the next 10 years unless it turns out to be impractical.
Edit:

Indeed. Though google glasses better come with voice recognition before anybody is able to run up to a google glasses user, yell "GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH, SAFESEARCH OFF, GURO" and run away again.
Actually augmented reality is much preferable to virtual reality unless you have living conditions that are terrible and you really do want to escape (of course, in all likelihood you would then lack the means of accessing VR as well hue). Cool stuff. One day we might really have all those 3D/holographic and interactive interfaces that sci-fi talks about. Sad thing is to think that I probably will be old and sad by then.
For now I suppose we just have to rely on anime, novels, films, etc. But pretty cool to think about.

Well, I guess im that ignorant/naive
To my defense, I haven't watched ALOT of animes, just yet (about 10 series I think, dunno). So I don't know all the types of possible character yet

on a sidenote thank you for frequently discussing muvluv, i would have skipped that anime entirely otherwise and that would have been a shame.
Eh... I really like the novel and the anime actually does a good job at following the novel.
But the director is doing a really poor job. Everything feels stiff and forced, conversation is worse than Campione (that's saying something) and action scene doesn't do nearly good enough of a job (which is kind of surprising considering Kusakawa Keizo did Nanoha Strikers).
I still enjoy it but wouldn't call it best of anything.

3D interfaces are stupidly impractical. Gesturing wildly in the air will never be a suitable replacement for UI with tactile controls.

Hey, you never know. I would be inclined to say that certain things would be nicer with a holographic display with little to no loss in practicality while others (like typing) would, of course, be better with a physical input. Maybe if everything were voice-controlled? But then it wouldn't work well in public places. I dunno, but if there's money to be made, someone will think of something. Perhaps holographic displays and having a touch sensation don't necessarily preclude each other. We have glass displays that let us feel texture already, maybe the same effect could someone be reproduced on a finger? At this point I'm sort of grasping at straws though.

Butchered or not, I'm enjoying Horizon quite a bit. Of course, it would've been nice if you didn't need to complement the anime with the infodump, if it had been a good adaption etc. But, as I'm unfamiliar with the source material (and can't get familiar with it due to the language), I'm just sitting back and enjoying what I can, heh.
Horizon anime is very well done. People are just frustrated because they chose to do a compacted single season rather than give it the full treatment, especially since Sunrise usually don't shy away from long term commitment. They could do a double season series once per year per volume and probably milk it for a decade and everyone would be happy.
