EDIT : Oh wow, Tokyopop is dead. What will happen to their license with Fate/Stay Night? Dunno, I might not buy them now... would feel weird to buy something incomplete and that may never be completed.......

And am about to order 8 more to get all the 11 that are currently released in English (19 were released in Japanese). but if the serie is dead (as in they don't plan to translate all 19, I might not buy them ; I don't like owning incomplete stuff) EDIT : Oh wow, Tokyopop is dead. Baka-updates, aka www.mangaupdates.com, keeps track of every fan translated series in several languages, they're also better than pretty much any official release that was released before the last 2 years, when people started hiring fanlators and fansubbers quality went way up on all official releases. www.mangatraders.com have a fairly complete archive of most fanlated series, however the translation group's official release over DDL or IRC XDCC on Rizon or IRCHighway are the most updated versions.

No. The main reason why 3D UI is awful is because it's not erogonomic at all. The average office work day is roughly eight hours or so. You can't possibly expect to be comfortable with your arms hanging in the fucking air the entire time. And while you can speculate all you want about holograms having tactile feedback, you can't get around the fact that it will consume ungodly amounts of power in doing so. Where is the money to be made in holographic UI? Holographic displays make sense because presenting a 3D object is best done in a 3D medium. A UI, on the other hand, offers little benefit over existing solutions. You could possibly make an argument for intuitiveness, but honestly, learning gesture controls isn't that much easier than learning key combinations. Voice controls are also awful. How often do people use Siri? I've never actually seen anybody use it outside of just screwing around. It's just impractical. + Show Spoiler + A MAN CAN DREAM! There's something to be said for glass desk displays etc though, which I'd argue is a version of augmented reality (e.g. that Microsoft and/or Corning video about the future with smart windows/TVs and whatnot everywhere). Power consumption on tactile screens is lower than you might expect--it's just electrostatics to simulate friction. I get what you're saying about working with your arms in the air for hours on end though of course, point taken rofl. Maybe on-desk controls for a floating display so you don't have to look down as you work. We already have widely-available keyboard software on smartphone that don't require you look down at the letters--it pieces words together based on the relative positions of where you touch with your fingers etc. 3D displays indeed would probably be more convenient for specific 3D modeling, though perhaps you could have an isometric sort of view with windows floating behind whatever windows you're working on @_@ Voice controls are awful...for now. It's a cop-out to say that in the future there will be better technology, but I believe this really will happen. The money will definitely eventually come for this kind of stuff, in my opinion. The first decade of the 21st century and continuing towards today we saw the rise of smartphones. "Rise" is really putting it quite lightly. In Q1 2012, Apple made almost $30 billion off of the iPad and iPhone. There's a case to be made that this kind of display is the next step up, with people getting integrated every step of the way. Next up *may* be smart TVs (it's what most tech companies are preparing for, anyway), and after that we could transition to this kind of augmented reality world. Anyway just my two cents. Not going to lie though, right now the tech industry is really driven by consumer desire for slicker, better, and faster. Some might say that it's sort of depressing how so much money goes into apparently superficial things like smartphones. The argument usually associated with space, i.e. "ventures into space have created many many innovations and scientific advancements" doesn't apply with tech necessarily because hardware is so much farther ahead than software, and all the fancy processors/GPUs etc are there for games. Well, games, CAD, and simulations. Clearly computing is very important to us, but advancements like prettier smartphones, smart TVs, and holographic displays are realistically of little utility and quite superficial, not to mention driven by consumerism. It's sort of a grey area, though, as after all, increasing computing efficiency is a good thing. Just know that I'm not 100% "huehuehue gimme shiny scifi holographix". ;o I have too much time on my hands :X I think it's just because you seemed sort of aggressive (I'm sensitive yo ;__;) and I didn't want to seem like a [complete] moron. Cheers! + Show Spoiler [reborn] + derp more rings, tsuna be pimpin gravity that affects only the beam thing I'm firing and condenses it to apparently 1/100000 of its surface area wahoo + Show Spoiler [kimi no iru machi] + ohey haruto is finally going to get laid maybe...wonder whether it's going to end there :S

Yea, I already use those to read online, thanks. But I wanted to actually buy some of the stuff to support them (just like how I sometimes end up buying movies/series that I enjoyed alot). It probably doesn't give anything (and maybe nothing), but if my money can help them keep running, then its not lost! I guess I'll have to decide whether or not I want to buy the 8 manga to complete the three I have :S

And I just looked it up, but it would appear Tokyopop stopped publishing (they kind of shut down). So I'm kind of curious if someone else will pick the serie, or if its a dead serie ![]() EDIT : Also just started Pandora Heart. The beginning is really interesting. Let's see how things evolve from there!

'Carnival Phantasm' is an adaption of the Manga 'Take Moon' by Type-Moon's Eri Takenashi, to celebrate Type-Moon's 10th Anniversary. In this show you'll see parodies and new stories loosely based on Type-Moon's original works like Melty Blood, Fate/Stay Night, Tsukihime and more. Although, just reading that, I guess there is no way in finding out its a parody show based on Type-Moon work like FSN and Tsukihime.
