So I'm kind of curious if someone else will pick the serie, or if its a dead serie ![]() EDIT : Also just started Pandora Heart. The beginning is really interesting. Let's see how things evolve from there! Regarding Pandora Hearts... either watch the whole thing, then purge the last 3 (?) episodes from your memory and then start reading the manga from like chapter 32-33. Or just don't watch the last three anime episodes. Whatever you do, don't just stop with the anime - read the manga. Most of the awesomeness is there, and there are so many plot twists that turns everything upside down. Sadly it's a monthly manga though - last month we got like 22 pages, and then bam another month worth of painful waiting.

Not that I have a thing for lyrics but I like the characters and also the animation actually. The stories are nicely delivered imo Somehow, since I started watching Natsume, I got a thing for "warm/kind" animes and especially for slice of life stuff, like Sakamichi no Apollon etc etc.

It makes it sound like reading is a prereq to being able to like it and might prevent people interested from attempting it. Pretty sure you don't need to have enjoyed source material to enjoy an adaptation. If anything, you have less expectations.

People certainly could (and probably should) enjoy it without reading LN. But I don't think they deserved to be recommended to people who have not. If they are good as KnK / FZ / FMP (or Scrapped Princess / Haruhi) I would recommend regardless read LN or not, but these are not at that level.

Also, Nobuna is pretty good on its own, regardless if you have read the LN or not (barely anyone in ADT other than like Eca and Uta are even able to read Japanese in the first place, since i'm pretty sure its not translated).

"It's nothing amazing but I'm enjoying x anime this season." Like Sent said, most LNs have no translation so people who can't read Japanese don't have the option to read them. You're just preventing people from exploring shows with that kind of statement. Or you could name different anime that are comparable in quality to give the person an idea of what he is getting into? "If you liked x, you might want to try y anime." I feel like you're better off not saying anything rather than "I rec this BUT only if you enjoyed the LN" when you also consider that anyone who did enjoy the LN would probably already be aware of its adaption. I feel like you're better off not saying anything rather than "I rec this BUT only if you enjoyed the LN" when you also consider that anyone who did enjoy the LN would probably already be aware of its adaption. At times, reading the LN seems to make people hate the anime adaption too. I'm pretty sure the people who hate Horizon more than anyone else in this thread are the people who have read the LN, while the people who are more tolerant of it are the people who have not. So in the end, I don't think "having read/experienced the source material" shouldnt be a factor in recommending an anime since it can go both ways, unless its a blatant fan service anime like SRW:OGIN (aka Fan Service: The Game: The Anime).

I guess it could be taken as "if you haven't read novel you won't enjoy these", but what I meant was "if you enjoyed the novel you more likely than not would enjoy it, if not you might or might not but I wouldn't recommend them as best ones of the season."
