The only small thing for me is hisoka's VA, it is not that the new one is bad it is just that his old one was so perfect. I am sure i will get over that though, just take some getting used too. its good so far, but the old one was already sooooo perfect i am not sold yet, a lot depends on killua and how they show his more violent moments, because killua is male yandere in my eyes and one of my favorite chars across all anime shows.

Yukikaze ![]() Long story short, Yukikaze is a show about humans fighting aliens with planes. The story is nothing to write home about, and the ending, to be honest, is a clusterfuck. Also, the main character, Lt. Fukai, is really anti-social and kind of an asshole at times. Where this show really shines is in its depiction of air combat. Most of the fights are done in CG, but the choreography of the fights is very good. And then there's the little details they put in which make the whole experience amazing. Several things that come to mind are the inclusion of the Prandtl?Glauert singularity and St. Elmo's fire. Guess I should've expected this from Gonzo though - Strike Witches had pretty crazy historical accuracy in some ways. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXadee4y5PQ Another thing I really liked about the show is how it characterized the titular AI, Yukikaze. This AI is basically embedded in the aircraft that Lt. Fukai flies, and helps him with various tasks. For the most part, Yukikaze (the AI) stays in the background. However, the first time Yukikaze really makes his presence felt, he seizes control of the aircraft in order to perform emergency evasive maneuvers which a human could never hope to replicate. And then control is calmly restored to the Lt. ![]() The simple lines are always the most chilling Throughout the show, Yukikaze demonstrates that it is capable of independent thought. It only communicates with Lt. Fukai several times in the anime (and with short text phrases at that), so we are forced to determine the thing's personality and intent solely from its actions. And this is no easy task, as its autonomous actions sometimes seem irrational at best. For instance, at the start of a show, Yukikaze designates a Super Slyph (the same type of aircraft that Lt. Fukai and Yukikaze fly in) as an enemy target. Lt. Fukai's backseater (or WSO) questions this, stating that it was clearly a friendly craft. And indeed, it is impossible for any of the humans (or the audience) to even fathom how Yukikaze arrived at that conclusion. In this way, Yukikaze is actually as foreign to the humans as the alien threat itself. In conclusion, Yukikaze (the show) is a show I both loved and hated. The story, pacing, and execution are all rather suspect, but the battles were fantastic, and the ideas explored with Yukikaze (the AI) were genuinely interesting. I'm pretty stoked for MLA: Total Eclipse now.

This is exactly how I feel. The faster pace is great and execution has been very enjoyable so far but that doesn't change the fact that the original was so perfectly done. Killua and Hisoka's fighting scenes better be upgraded rather than downgraded for me to actually consider this a success. I'll at least watch until + Show Spoiler + Killua rips out Jones' heart

+ Show Spoiler [Hayate no Gotoku 342+Omake] + Why are we back to Nagi manga arcs? What's with this forced plot twist? Why is there a new character, don't we already have a lot of minor characters who barely get screen time? Why does Chiharu only get one panel and a small one at that? Whyyyyyyyy. Nagi manga also too high level for me. Anyway, Ruka's dojinshi was amusing to read. I can't find any art mistakes although I haven't gone over it again looking for them. Anyone notice any?
