Why does Chiharu only get one panel and a small one at that? Whyyyyyyyy. Nagi manga also too high level for me. Anyway, Ruka's dojinshi was amusing to read. I can't find any art mistakes although I haven't gone over it again looking for them. Anyone notice any? You'd think there is a max level for how useless a chapter can get.

The only reason I voted "Tsundere" is cause I play Artificial Academy and all the tsundere personalities in there are the ones that just turn me on the most. Real talk...

Hmm... Sucks that you're so hateful of certain kinds of anime or plot developments. I enjoy my high school scenes fully. I think it gives the characters another dimension. It gives a chance for non-flame haze affiliated characters to do something. I certainly don't hate the writers or the source material for putting it in. In fact, I appreciate it. Why do you keep hating on anime I like, whether it be Guilty Crown or shana?

And I dont understand what you guys think is so nice about tsunderes, I think it is just plain annoying though I have to admit Makise Kurisu was pretty good. Very good mix of tsun and dere.

Ecael said nothing about hating on Shana or high school scenes; if anything, he's complimenting Shana (at least season 3). All he said is high school scenes aren't required to relax tension, which is true. He then inferred that you thought the writer was bad enough to actually need high school scenes as a tool to relax tension as well as what I assume to be the fact that the source material (at this point onwards) has none, meaning you dislike the source material for its lack of high school scenes. I completely agree with Ecael; there are plenty of other ways to relax tension, though as I said before, I do miss my Shana tsundere.

![]() Holy shit, if this show goes south I will be so pissed, this has the potential to be the only good show they've made since Turn A. I will admit I was INCREDIBLY, INCREDIBLY wary of this show when I saw the preview image but ever since the first episode hoooolyyyyy shit. This is what I've been wanting out of a gundam show for years. I don't even care if the UAE turn out to actually be aliens (Although that would, imo, make the show go south because the dynamic of the best gundam shows have show the rivalry and human emotion between both sides of the war). All in all, Do fucking Want more. Watch this show, unless you're a pussy.

On October 23 2011 21:28 Spazer wrote: In conclusion, Yukikaze (the show) is a show I both loved and hated. The story, pacing, and execution are all rather suspect, but the battles were fantastic, and the ideas explored with Yukikaze (the AI) were genuinely interesting. Regarding Fukai Rei, not a lot has been explained about him even in more recent edits of the book. However, in short stories it is mentioned that he's a computer cracker, and thus not originally a pilot. They don't explain why he's so antisocial, but a crucial thing they did not explain in the OVAs is that Yukikaze, as an advanced reconnaissance plane, is actually not a combat plane. That is, because of the JAM's ability to imitate humans, Yukikaze is sent to observe, analyze data, and then return to base with that data. To that end the pilot is deliberately to be someone who is "emotionless" and doesn't trust others - the pilot really must be a robotic data analyst. In turn, that's why other pilots consider Yukikaze (and Fukai) a Grim Reaper - despite being one of the best combat capable ships, his job is to watch a fight even if his allies get slaughtered. That leads to the, IMO anyways, fascinating dynamic between Rei and Yukikaze, which I felt was incredibly chilling throughout the series. Like spazer I felt like it went cuckoo at the end, and there were a lot of fillers and such, but the interaction between Rei and Yukikaze in contrast to his interaction with Rei and Booker (whom by all accounts he appears to care for, too) was nicely done. And while AI-based combat support isn't really anything new, ala Full Metal Panic, Yukikaze's inability to articulate thoughts beyond three-four words and beeping sounds added a whole level of both suspense and wonder. You end up understanding why so many people struggle to "trust" her, while never really understanding what she's thinking. The last episode is a clusterfuck but Booker ends up being a characterization of how the viewer feels by that point in the series. Edit: I highly, highly recommend it. The pacing is slow and all over the place, so at the end you end up having to sift through all the information and try to piece together what's going on (not usually good show of storyboarding and directing), but aside from the combat, the depiction of human computer interaction is probably one of the best in anime format. It's probably the most direct humanization of how difficult it is to trust things that you don't understand at the most fundamental of levels - valuation of life.

For once I scroll up before posting and realize that I, in fact, don't need to post. lol Too add some of my personal opinion though, I don't actually hate on school settings. In fact, you see people like Southlight who'd just not bother as soon as seeing a school setting because of all the things it implies. All I do is bitch about the prospects like the pessimist that I am and watch anyway. At any case, Shana has abused that setting as a way to relax tension too much, that's why I am genuinely surprised that someone should want to put up with more of it after the disaster that is season 2. I tend to have a bit of faith in the writers (often betrayed) in that I think they are good enough to write decently after they have produced something decent, by accident or not. So yeah, Shana doesn't need a school setting, it just needs to not fuck up pacing. As for 'hating', um, you haven't seen me hate on anything yet, lol. I am just pretty harsh in terms of criticisms (and again Southlight is worse when he isn't trolling). At that, if I hate something, I'd just say that it is shit and don't bother, I won't even bother to type more than that ![]()
