...like my thoughts so far on Nanoha! :D It indeed does start off feeling like a Cardcaptor Sakura clone, but that only lasted through episode 5 or so. However, it does continue to rely heavily on genre tropes throughout the series, and tries perhaps a little too hard to appeal to "otaku-culture". The biggest put-off for me was the excessive loli-bait. I'm okay with little girls being portrayed cute...I'm not okay with them being portrayed as sex objects. The transformation scenes and nighties shots (not to mention the hot springs episode) were a bit much for 3rd graders. I also think the story arcs could have used more time to develop, as the dramatic events just didn't hit me as hard as they were probably supposed to. Aside from that, I actually have enjoyed season 1 and A's. The characters very are likeable, the magic system, while nothing new, is interesting, the combat scenes are good, and the plot is nothing to sniff at.

Tomoyo's I guess on par with Nagisa, Kotomi is slightly below. I don't think Haruhi deserves such analysis . It's a good book plot wise at least.Yeah I agree with your perception of Nanoha. I thought that the storyline was actually fairly weak and cliched, and I actually watched the series a while ago (read: a child basically), so that kind of says something I guess. Ultimately, the only thing that was the show's saving grace were the last few episodes of each season. Those really brought the series together. I think the show actually got confused as to what demographic they were aiming for. The character's maturity and the show's theme don't really match...

I'm really not sure if this is the correct topic to ask this, but I don't think making a new topic just to ask a question was appropriate. Anyways, I'm looking for a certain anime/cartoon show that aired on Cartoon Network mmm... maybe two years ago. All I can remember about the few shows I watched is that there was definitely a robot with a T.V. for a head. A girl with goggles? I think she fights with a guitar too, and rides a scooter. And then, of course, there's a dude who is kind of lonely, doesn't talk much, and fights with a...stick? I'm sorry for the very little information given, I don't remember much of it. I just know that the few episodes I did watch, I enjoyed them very much. Thanks in advance. Again, I'm sorry if I'm not posting in the correct topic.

Is Nanoha (is that the name of the series) worth the watch, though? Because I'm getting mixed vibes from the discussion about it =P If you like lolis yes. Otherwise, there are vastly better shows out there :p

Tomoyo After was an excellent game, if you are lucky, the 10th anniversary version will see translation instead of the original PC version.
. It's a good book plot wise at least.
