Also, about Death Note. A lot of people would look up this chart and will probably look for Death Note first. It has to be there as a beacon or they'll post saying "I want something like Death Note" again.
Some ideas : Durarara, DenYuuDen maybe (for action or whatever)? Angel Beats is also very popular (Drama). Even if most people in this thread seems to hate it, you can't deny its popularity/ratings/etc.

Okay guys, here's the newly updated version. It's just a rough draft atm because we need more input before we finalize it.

Patch Notes (starting from left to right):
*Added Supernatural and Moe columns.
Darker Than Black: Moved to Mystery. Durarara takes the empty slot in action.
Ichigo Mashimaro, K-On!, Hidamari, Lucky Star, Minami-ke, Sketchbook: All moved to Moe. Replaced by Bartender, Working!!, Toradora, HnC, Antique Bakery. Kimagure Orange Road takes the spot under Romance that HnC left behind.
Kamichu & Moyashimon: Moved to Supernatural. Replaced by Marimite and S&W. Twelve Kingdoms takes S&W's spot under Fantasy.
Bakemonogatari: Moved to Supernatural. True Tears takes its spot.
Clannad: Moved to Drama. Kimikiss Pure Rouge takes its spot.
Jigoku Shoujo: Moved to Supernatural. Shiki takes its spot.
xxxHOLiC: Moved to Supernatural. Mononoke takes it spot. Shigofumi takes Mononoke's spot under Psychological. Darker than Black took Shigofumi's spot.
Casshern Sins: Removed completely. Replaced by Hourou Musuko.
Mecha Section: Did everything Sentenal mentioned in his post: + Show Spoiler +Both Gundam SEED and Macross Frontier are popular and good mech shows, and both need to be on the list. There isn't really any reason to take off Gundam SEED, but then add Code Geass (which is MUCH less popular here than SEED). Replace Eureka 7 with Gundam SEED, and replace Patlabor with Macross Frontier. Replace Gundam: Stardust Memories with either Gunbuster or Getter Robo Armageddon, since 0083 sucked. Also, both Super Dimensional Fortress Macross and Do You Remember Love don't need to be on there, since DYRL is essentially the movie version of the series. Replace DYRL with Escaflowne.
Captain Tylor: Swaps with Space Cobra.
Mushishi: Moves to Supernatural.
Natsume Yuujinchou: Moves to Supernatural. Kemono no Souja Erin takes its spot under Fantasy.
Supernatural: Added Mnemosyne and sola.
Moe: Added Hanamaru Youchien and Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight.
As you can see there are missing slots left. I wouldn't mind leaving empty slots. Don't actually have to fill them all up. A few of us think Eureka 7 and Madoka should be added.
Leave thoughts and suggestions please.

Also, we already talked about this, but S&W is really hard to place. Im not sure its slice of life, though. More romance. But then again, it's not only about romance. meh

Denpa is hard to recommend when it is only 2 OVAs, but I recommend it to everyone anyway.

definitely not fantasy. people just have to throw that out there because the girl has a tail and occasionally turns into a wolf, but it's really not fantasy at all

it's also not romance, at least not entirely
i mean it is romance, but classifying it as romance would be really narrow minded. the romance only plays a (albeit big) part of the anime, but the anime itself isn't solely focused on it. It's like bakemonogatari, there is romance but if someone classified it as romance, it would be pretty dumb
s&w lacks the big description name, so it's really hard to clasify, but romance is probably the closest you can get

Well, guys, try and decide on the best-fit category for S&W. Kaal's really pushing for Slice of Life.

I think the only reason to put S&W to fantasy would be the middleage setting. But cause this does not idicate fantasy at all and since it's more slice of life in the definition of following the daily life of the main characters I'd say put it in slice of life.

it doesnt fit into fantasy just because Holo can turn into a wolf. That is fantasy but not the important element of the show.
It is no slice of life either. I mean compare it to Aria or Minami-ke you can clearly see the difference.
The romance is the main part of the anime doesnt matter how some people feel about it.
