Menma~ That's like the fourth time you've acted as if everyone hated the Madoka ending, and the fourth time people have replied that it wasn't bad. You're in a vocal minority that disliked it, deal with it.
Naw, I may be in the vocal minority, but I'm objectively right. Y'all are just denialfags o3o
Also, MichaelEU counts as a person? ?_?

I voted like, but I'd like to specify how it is was conditional in that I didn't expect them to try to end the show on an unfinished note. There are definitely better ways than that deus ex wish, but once we get down to getting the series finished this season, that's pretty much the only choice. So yeah, I 'liked' it.

Personally, and I'm repeating myself, I loved Holo. I won't lie, I love tsundere, but that's not really the only reason. She was mysterious, sexy, smart, and selfish, in a good way. She's maybe the biggest reason I enjoyed the show, but as I said, it had conversations that I really enjoyed (I normally don't watch such things), it had a REALLY well done romance, and while the business, as you correctly said, was nothing extra, I only take it as an added bonus and I don't feel like it removed anything from the anime. Sure, maybe it didn't add much, but at least it flavored the show a bit. If you can still think like that then I guess that's nice, I've long since lost the ability to judge on what things do well rather than what they fuck up on.
and just higher standards, Horo is at best a mid tiered character to me.

Could someone help me out with this question... I can't seem to google my way to the answer. I'm trying to remember the name of of old anime. It was called something like sorcerer ryu. The main character was basically a magician, but he always screwed it up and ended up just having to beat people up since his spells always failed/backfired.
No too much to go on, I know.. but any ideas?^^

I voted no but I should have voted Sentenal as I'm completely in agreement with his opinion on Madoka.
EDIT : I believe what made S&W good for most people was not the story and not Horo. It was mostly how everything was presented, the setting, the music, the way the story progress and, especially, the conversations. I think we're arguing in the wrong direction if we're talking about story/characters. I would agree with Ecael and Southlight that the story and the characters were not even close to decent, but I still really enjoyed season one for some mysterious reason...

Tell me some of your high tier characters, then. Good girl characters make or break anime, and I'd really love to see a veteran's choice of characters, especially since you call one of my favourite characters mid tier :p I'm currently taking a 2 month anime (and sc) break for various reasons, but at least I'll have something to look forward to. Name away

Off the top of my head, everything that wasn't Crest/Banner either had too abbreviated an anime or just wasn't animated at all.
Oh that and Gahara-san from Bake, but I like her particularly for parts that haven't been animated yet, not sure how many people would agree with me on just season 1.
|
More specific? I've already watched Bakemonogatari, and I did like Hitagi quite a bit. I think I still like Holo a bit more, but that may be because season 1 doesn't go too indepth or maybe because i watched s&w just yesterday, in comparison to bake that i watched like 5 months ago. Maybe some 2000+ anime that you could recommend? I don't think i'll be able to stand watching old girls. Old anime is fine(cowboy bebop, akira), but not really romance :s

I liked the Madoka ending. I don't post here as much anymore, but I'd consider myself an "active" poster.

Skilledblob what are you watching atm?
looks like the majority liked the madoka ending i cant really understand the outrage about it. I think it was pretty clear right from the beginning what the ending will be. What I enjoyed most about Madoka was the journey towards the ending. The show brought some fresh air into an otherwise kind of mediocre genre.
from this season I watch
