You usually get treasures after defeating someone. And to make a nicely framed story the setup should be similar to the beginning, that's what makes me think Shanks will be there. Why do you say no way, that's a harsh indictment. Maybe there is a chance. I found your combative style weird was it aimed at me? Did you find my comment dumb to respond by a try of belittlement? Even if you are the one true arbiter of one piece truth I wouldn't want to hear it from you. | ||

There were so many panels wasted on not only scabbards but also citizen's reaction shots, tontattas, Raijo vs that bald guy, pointless tension, and rebecca. We wasted 10 years on these pathetic arcs which is why one piece sales declined so much. Open your eyes man. You really think 10 years of Punk hazard, dress rosa, zou, WCI, Wano were worth it? It was mediocre and it SHOULD be critized with the fact that we're not spending 10 years of time on void century, shanks, bb, final war. It should've been flipped. Oda literally told people he added 9 scabbards instead of his original plan to add 4. Can you even name all 9 scabbards? Last time I saw, no one gave a shat about them. | ||

the plot threads you desperately want answered have been vaguely hinted at for literally decades (since probably Drum Kingdom) while Oda has done so many arcs with so many characters and subplots that we’ve enjoyed while the story progresses. if it is that painful for you to have to see so many “pointless characters” and so many scenes that you don’t appreciate then I highly suggest not reading the manga then because you’re going to get a lot of those when you read own piece. | ||

It is crazy we've gone 10years since the beginning of the Dressrosa but who cares. It's been a great story overall and I enjoyed seeing all the new stuff. | ||

No one is enjoying these subplots except hardcore fans. He got complaints and literally said in interview that he's not gonna write for his fans but for his own entertainment. One piece peaked in MF when MF was literally 20 chapters long. Meanwhile Wano tanked so hard and some people joked if oda replacement was writing the story. Bro when you say plot threads have been hinted. Oda literally just uses these hints as hype tools and revistis 400 chapters later. Oda is a writer who prioritizes hype first and then tries to figure shit out later. It became apparent when Oda was like a punch won't be a satisfying defeat for kaido. Well Luffy just punched him and defeated him. Oda got no detailed plan and he knows he doesn't have to plan shit out because he doesn't have his own rules/structure to follow. Oda fans will gladly praise him and say GODAOMG!! Literally casual readers dropped it and keep chiming in to ask me what happened in one piece. They just shake their heads in disbelief when I tell them Luffy now defeated kaido after dying 4x. They're like sheesh one piece is just utter trash now. | ||

To some extend I felt this way about Dressrosa and cake island already, but Wano increased the size again and honestly I think that takes away of each subplot. | ||

There has been some criticism in this thread during the years, however at least for me I'm enjoying the manga even though it does have shortcomings. I feel most of the disappointment comes from the fact that the manga peaked a long time ago and naturally can't keep it's quality on that level all the time. Compared to other titles, such as Bleach and Naruto, Oda has done a hell of a job considering it's been 25 years. | ||
