Kaido said it himself, if Oden acted as his old self then everything might have turned out differently. One Piece in general is filled with characters that are terrible decision makers. I suppose it makes for a good story with plenty of conflict, but also sometimes it's infuriating to read. | ||

And Kaido is, as far as we know, immortal, so I kinda doubt Oden would have won even without the trick. | ||
