It says he just wasnt shown in the scene when the officers were all shown in prison. + Show Spoiler +

The one piece wiki claims Vergo and Monet died, but they have no good source for saying that. Pell surviving the bomb he was carrying definitely leaves it open for Vergo and Monet to survive with super haki or DF power. About Ceasar stabbing Monet's heart there is some speculation that he wasn't able to fully pierce her heart because he passed out.

I think Oda left it vague for it to not be too dark but I'm pretty sure we'll never see them again. Also in response for Doffy's fate: he will fly away. He is a caged bird, trapped in his own destiny that was forced upon him by others. Once birdcage is broken he will be free.

I thought that the only ally that died outside of a flashback was Ace.

While I dislike the birdcage, I think the point of it is to force people to fight Dofl rather than actually killing them. The cage itself I have no real issues with (though it really is OP as fuck), I just hate how every other strong person there is ignoring Dofl and instead focusing on the cage.
I mean really, you can choose to run from the cage/try to stop the near unstoppable cage, or you can just kick the shit out of the guy using it. Sure, he's strong, but even if only Zoro + Sabo joined in the fight wouldn't last that long, let alone all the other strong people in the area.
And even if they lose, they accomplish a lot more than they would have focusing on the cage. Feels a bit forced to have Luffy be the only one to save the day here.

plus they specifically came to dressrossa to fight doflamingo

He's born with the conqueror's haki, what do you expect him to do? lay low like his father? of course he killed everybody that gets in his way or die trying. and Mingo is ganna fight till the bitter end here, he's not running away at all, people with conqueror's haki do not run away like a pussy.

I think the reason that all the strong fighters are taking on the cage is that Doffy being defeated doesn't necessarily mean that bird cage will end. People here are assuming that Doffy/birdcage is similar to Sugar/toys - in that its effect will end once the DF user gets defeated.
Not saying that my theory is true, but it does give the storyline a good reason to put the strong fighters to the bird cage instead of going to take out Doflamingo and it does make sense why the fact that bird cage was momentarily stopped is such an important detail

but the birdcage is fucking strings like holy shit its illogical. What happened to admirals being the ultimate force?

Didn't Monet's heart get stabbed?

Yes, she got stabbed in the heart by Caesar and she and Vergo were caught in the explosion that destroyed the lab with neither having a way to defend themselves from it.

The only thing that can explain this is the "Awakening" state of DD's devil fruit.
Lets wait for the explanations before saying ODA is wrong

Named people, good or bad, practically never die in One Piece because shounen. That's why Whitebeard and Ace's deaths had such a big impact.
I could see CP 0 having something to do with the aftermath, once DD is beaten in combat, due to their apparent connection to the World Nobles + DD's bloodline. Oda really is such a tease to just show them briefly ~80 chapters ago and then not touch them since. Maybe they're out having drinks with Pirate A?

in that case everyone in dressrossa is screwed though

Yea, that birdcage thing is actually quite stupid when dofla will be surrounded on 10m² by Luffy, Zoro, Sabo, the admiral etc. ...

Look at Robin's face when Leo tells her about Mansherry's power. + Show Spoiler + Looks like the gears in her head are working. Could she have located another ancient weapon?
