But i can imagine in a middle of a war, with a city about to be completly killed, caos on the streets, your own soldiers in danger, many "enemys" including DD and his gang, etc. mistakes can be made. but you can't imagine that scenario, you think he should do A and that's it.. i'm ok with that since this is always open for interpretation. Fujitora is a important and strong person but he is torn with his feelings towars his position and his own sense of justice. He is not the guy that follows 100% his orders but at the same time he is not like Aokiji that can simply ignore them, he tests people and makes up his own mind. Maybe he tests to much, maybe he doesn't. For me I like the way the story is going, i would have prefered that Luffy would have kick DD's ass quickly but it will take a bit more. It's not like it's fucking hody.. it's DD the biggest badass after the 4 younkou and admirals i can understand some mistakes but he did literally the exact opposite of what his goal should ahve been, i mean that should be pretty clear and one of his subordinates was even like "dude DD is literally killing the country we should prob do something about that" and he was like "STFU man like i give a fuck now go find someone helping civilians and break his legs" Now the climax is closing in. And that's when Dofla will be defeated. Not when Luffy punches him into some wall, silly Forik. didnt expect Oda to go full Kubo

If this were the real reason I'd be totally okay with that. Means just have to wait a couple weeks of stalling chapters before return to the godlike quality we're used to. I think a large part of why I'm disappointed right now is because the bar has been set so damn high for One Piece... I mean for regular other manga this chapter was still good and arc overall is great. It's just I have a much, much, much higher expectation when it comes to Oda and One Piece. For One Piece standards this arc is starting to fall off simply due to dragging on now imo.

For One Piece standards this arc is starting to fall off simply due to dragging on now imo. To be honest, I think we put one piece on a pedestal that it doesn't deserve. Its really fun and I enjoy it, and I like the characters, but honestly, when you look back at one piece its really not as good as I thought it was (still good though!) I guess over time it just gets hard to keep all of your characters unique and interesting. I mean, who remembers when Chopper last used brain point? That was like -his thing- he was super smart, thats why he's a doctor, now he's just a fluffy monster. What was going on with Zoro splitting into three people? we haven't seen that since. All these questions about the birdcage. I think one piece is probably the best shonen after maybe hunter hunter? But it -is- still a shonen. Perhaps a lot of the problems people seem to have with one piece every single arc is that they actually have too high expectations for what is essentially a light hearted bit of fun? ![]()

Brain point wasnt stupid, and if it was, thats something to complain about surely? :S Quite contradictory! Like I said, I think one piece is good fun, in fact, I just listed it as probably the second best shonen! So yes, I agree, it has lots of positive aspects! (which I thought I had put across fairly clearly) But I do think there is a tendency for its fans (myself included until re-watching it recently) to rate it higher in terms of story writing than it deserves. For example, I remember thinking that one of the things that separated one piece from something like say, naruto, was the consistency, and that the story of one piece was consistent, but re-watching, that's not really true. I mean, its still better than Naruto! But in my mind, I had convinced myself that one piece was perfect. Which it simply is not! I dont think this arc is dramatically better or worse than any previous arc, i'm quite enjoying it! I was merely commenting that the "I only think this is bad because I expect better from Oda, not because its really bad" line of thought is quite common, and in my opinion, largely based on a gross over estimation of Oda in the first place. Again, im not saying he is bad compared to his peers, once again, I rated him in my top two shonen author's. I just think because One Piece is so long, people tend to get rose tinted goggles with it! I know I did! If you dont, I guess my comment wasn't aimed at you? ![]() EDIT: Hyperbola, that thing makes me want to take a gun to my head. Why have you inflicted this upon me? What did I do to you? What could I have possibly done to deserve "loadingu"

But One Piece fans are hardcore fans, so don't mention that One Piece might not be as good as many people make it out to be or you will be burned at the stake.
