Birdcage is a poor plot device. It makes sense in the shounen 1v1 aspect, but like has been pointed out it's no longer 1v1 with the gladiators helping out and now even a named character helping. Even if it takes time to get to the center it was 10 minutes for Luffy to recover and 9 minutes or less before the birdcage kills everyone.Their pushing will be enough for Luffy to get his 10 minutes, but there are plenty of strong fighters that could have reached DD in that time.
In Alabasta there was a compelling reason others couldn't help, there was a civil war that was going on, Strawhats had just finished difficult fights and were trying to stop a bomb. Even if they knew where Crocodile was dog piling on him and defeating him wouldn't stop the bomb. Here the only chaos is birdcage which just limits the space they can work in, but does nothing to stop anyone from reaching DD. Birdcage is just dragging things out, when the fight could have been settled after G4. Luffy and DD are so exhausted they can't use haki or their DF effectively, birdcage is almost killing people, Luffy defeats DD before any harm can come to citizens, done.

Yea, but I guess that if those strong ones were to fight Doffy instead of pushing the cage they all would be dead by now. No matter how much we believe one or the other works better, those are just assumptions.

Seriously though FUCK the bird cage it's just starting to aggravate me more every chapter, Zoro, an Admiral tons of new world gladiators and pirates, Franky etc. All combined can only slow it down a little and not break it? That is just flat out bullshit. This arc needs to end, loved it at the start but its just dragging on and on now for no good reason. It's like Oda just wants to waste time.

So much bullshit in this arc. Surely the princess's healing flower things also gonna heal DD aswell? Luffys next attack actually defeating DD is going to be so laughably bad i feel it may rank lower then a chapter of bleach.
Don't die viola swannnnnn!! I worry about what's going to happen to the anime once this arc finishes. One piece has traditionally never done long 5 months filler arcs like naruto. Instead just padding eps along the way with slower pacing, etc. However, because oda has basically been on a 2-3 chapters per month run for a while now, there won't be nearly enough of the next arc to animate. Right now the anime is up to the part where usopp is about to activate his haki.
I thought the pace is slow just like most until I read the manga from Punk Hazard to present again. The pacing is perfect and just like it was before. People are just impatient and as one has to wait a week or more per chapter it gets to their nerves if every chapter doesn't cause a boner.

no the pacing is all wrong, we see Zoro fight pica for one chapter then its off to something random, then its Franky for a chapter then something random, then its luffy for a chapter then something random then tis law for a chapter then something random and then its back to Zoro
I don't mind much of what's criticized here, but the bird cage is pretty annoying. It seems very un-one-piece-like to have something that overwhelming. What annoys me most is not the amount of power needed to neutralize is, but that nothing happens when it's creator changes. And I'm not talking about existence, I'm talking about it's pushing power. The pushing needs some kind of energy or force acting on it, which i would assume to be DD, through his fruit. If DD's hit severely (he was near losing), you'd think it would affect the amount of power that's left pushing the cage.

Fujitora was always for the right Justice but because it's a "funny" show he does stupid mistakes.
Just like when he met Luffy and summoned the meteor that could have killed everybody there and he could have attacked Luffy right there but he didn't. Fujitora is like that.. he "forgets" that he is a walking WMD !
Since he is for the "right justice" he preferes Luffy to DD(specially after learning about the toys) and hopes that Luffy can defeat him because he can't go against WG and do it himself.

and its one thing to forget bits about marineford but to forget bits about on going fights is when i draw the line if you start a fight finish it before starting another
Well this is a manga, you can argue all you want and you can simply think it's wrong or not well made.
But i can imagine in a middle of a war, with a city about to be completly killed, caos on the streets, your own soldiers in danger, many "enemys" including DD and his gang, etc. mistakes can be made.
but you can't imagine that scenario, you think he should do A and that's it.. i'm ok with that since this is always open for interpretation. Fujitora is a important and strong person but he is torn with his feelings towars his position and his own sense of justice. He is not the guy that follows 100% his orders but at the same time he is not like Aokiji that can simply ignore them, he tests people and makes up his own mind. Maybe he tests to much, maybe he doesn't.
For me I like the way the story is going, i would have prefered that Luffy would have kick DD's ass quickly but it will take a bit more. It's not like it's fucking hody.. it's DD the biggest badass after the 4 younkou and admirals

The pacing is really slow. And the story have many 拖秀 moment. (Delay Show) Like a troll post, 拖秀 is easy to spot if you know what it is , the technique and the reasons behind it.
Do not forget, Pirate A have been missing for so long, and the whole storyline is going to 2 years? Or maybe it might be more than 2 years.
Even in movies there are reference of One Piece joke that u will die first before you finish reading One Piece.
I thought this week episode is really typical and predictable. I kind of predict mina (every1） will band together as one and fight the evil, just win lil bit time for the Hero to win the vaillain in the big climate finish off.
I have my reasons when last week I post 3 min 2 min 1 min 30 sec 10 sec Last sec.
