ishida's dad asks him if his powers are back, implying he lost them for a reason. the only way to lose shinigami powers as far as we know is to use the final getsuga tensho. over 20 years, isshin recovers his shinigami powers instead of that accelerated method they used for ichigo. | ||

byakuya was able to destroy ichigo's powers because he was human at the time, but then he recovered them through urahara's training. i can't quite explain it, read chapter 59. | ||

Incorrect. You can also lose your shinigami powers by having certain organs pierced. This happened to Ichigo when he first met Byakuya. | ||

Didn't he unleash a Getsuga Tenshou against Aizen? I'm thinking he had a different type Zanpaktou before Aizen and a different one when he got his powers back and Ichigo was born (at that point he just got a copy of Ichigo's or vice versa) | ||
