It's so sad because the premise is cool and they definitely have good performances (except for the joker, don't know what they were going for there, he looked like the Ledger joker if he was directed by Joel Schumacher). But there are so many awful things about this movie: 1. The plot. They could have gone 2 ways to make the premise work: make bad guys do illegal things with deniability (like taking out mobsters the hard way or spy agencies from foreign power, etc) or make a team of disposable super humans and force them to deal with powerful super human enemies. They chose neither and instead made a team of slightly more powerful humans (and the fire dude) who work worse together than military people (that somehow still accompany them, defeating the purpose of using the bad guys in the first pace) to fight a super strong godlike entity... 2. The editing. This is by far the worst edited high budget movie I have ever seen. It's simple it looks like a trailer. Every dialogue scene is cut in the 2 seconds following the last sentence of the characters talking, there is no build up, every "joke" from Quinn falls completely flat and the dream/insanity sequences look like poorly made clips from an angsty teenager group. 3. The lighting. Its so fucking dark, scenes shot in daylight are greyish and I couldn't make sene of the night scenes. They pulled a Snyder and just applied a god awful opacity filter on everything. 4. The dialogues. Maybe it's mostly the editing but nothing felt natural, Will Smith says: " I guess we are some sort of Suicide Squad" 2 minutes after hearing the plan. Really? 5. The music. Again it looks like a trailer, there is overwhelming music in every scene, a lot of them being actual lyrics songs like ACDC. One of the greatest idea in the Dark knight was the seldom use of music in tense scenes and they threw that away. What a mess. I don't know if I would really call Watchmen a superhero movie but it's definitely a way better movie than most of the stuff we see now. Can't believe it's a Snyder movie tho.

Most DC movies are compared to the dark knight from cristopher nolan, which is not only a good hero movie, but a good movie. Marvel's movies such as civil war, age of ultron, thor, ironman (even the first), etc ,etc , are full of cliche, creepy one liners which just get laugh at because you don't expect the movie to be serious, so you take them at the value for what they were introduced. So, as a superhero movie, suicide squad was pretty in line with anything else in the market. If you have watched 5 hero movies in the past 3 months, you are very likely to be bored because they are all pretty much the same. Happened to me with Xmen and Civil war aswell. And it's not lowering your standards... it's having realistic expectations towards what you are going to watch. And as movies, most superhero movies are still pretty much crap. I mean, barring the dark knight, and some outliers such as Guardians of the galaxy, the rest of the movies are just poster movies which happens to satisfy our inner child, nothing else. Except Xmen apocalipsis. And thor 1 and 2. And Captain america. And... etc etc etc... Damn you guys are so biased it's not even funny. Go watch concussion. I don't hold anything to batman standards, that last crazy. I hold them all the the same standard and I think it's pretty fair to say on average a marvel movie is leagues ahead of a DC movie. given that this new batman trilogy is pretty much the only movies in there even holding DC up. the early xmen movies were good. captain Americas were good? Thor was slightly below average, but I'd wager still better than most DC movies.

Fully agreed, it is not not some super deep shit but it has underlying pholosophical themes, an awesome soundtrack, a nice twist and interesting cinematography. No other superhero movie delivers such a complete package.

Obviously Watchmen is the best superhero movie. Unbreakable is also really high on my list due to it being a bit different.

Personally I think out of all super hero movies, the road rage scene in winter soldier is still the most outstanding of all.

I think that joker Batman scene in the dark knight where joker gets captured tops all of them for me ..winter soldier scenes come after this one . I for some reason also like Raimi spider man movies fight scenes ..they were awesome to watch On August 08 2016 20:49 {CC}StealthBlue wrote: Suicide Squad, could have been a good movie but it turns out to be a jumbled mess becoming garbage. And I don't know how you manage to see and remember the difference of every superhero film on the fly. Don't take me wrong, I like them, but they really all look like the same (except for the few very bad ones, but I take it sarcastically in that case x).

I think the Dark Knight is pretty extreme in how far it falls upon re-watches. Part of it is fatigue with Bale's Batman and the voice, but you also start to notice how long it is and how some of the action is disjointed. Most MCU films are a lot tighter than it. Maybe not as good, but there's less strings to unravel. Suicide Squad's big problem is that DC/WB tried to cash in on Deadpool and GotG, even though it wasn't originally shot that way and doesn't have the brains or heart of either film. It obviously had other problems, but I fully expect Justice League and Wonder Woman to suck too, because DC/WB have no idea what they want, besides Marvel's bank. Speaking of Marvel, Hunt for the Wilderpeople was fantastic. I have zero idea how Taika Waititi is going to direct the next Thor, after Wilderpeople and What we do in the shadows, but at least it'll be funny.

![]() Money Mon$ter It's a silly movie that I've enjoyed greatly. I must say I didn't expect much of it and I thought it's going to trip over its own legs with all the things going on but Jodie Foster (who directed it) somehow pulled it off. Fun watch that reminded me a bit about the Phone Booth or Inside Man.

![]() The Wailing Na Hong-jin, Korea, 2016 Fantastic sound design and atmosphere. Slowly shifts from a thriller to a horror story. Recommended. Hard to discuss the plot without giving away any spoilers.

Fun watch that reminded me a bit about the Phone Booth or Inside Man. I remember when I saw the trailer for the first time. Stopped watching it after the guy in the trailer said that he "gets 14$ an hour " . Is Hollywood really trying to make us believe this crap (Im shocked that this is directed by Jodie Foster, didn´t know that before, she is a great actress but this makes it worse) ? I know a lot of people (me included) that would be happy getting 14€ an hour. It´s one of the reasons why i stopped (almost, from time to time I still watch but its rare) watching all this Hollywood Crap and stick to watching Anime almost exclusively. Watching Anime since Im around 13 (early 30´s now) and never really been disappointed, bored or thinking it was stupid etc. Even if the scenario seems over the top they still seem to be in a believable universe somehow (Note that im not talking about every Anime here). But man what Hollywood produces these days.

And the writing in the vast majority of anime is... sheesh. The problem with the movie is that it completely misses the target on computer-driven stock trading, and where corruption is most likely to occur.

This movie had many more problems, which didn't really make it any less enjoyable for me. I didn't expect much from it, suspended most of my belief and I was entertained.
