It was fine. It wasn't a Ghostbusters movie, but it was definitely a movie called Ghostbusters. I wouldn't recommend it to friends but I have nothing terrible to say about it. Langdon is on his way to becoming a comic book super hero on the big screen. The trailer made him seem more central to the plot than the novel ever made him feel. The preview for Sully is the movie I'm interested in seeing. Also, my body is ready for Jason Bourne.

The best part of the movie is the score, which definitely shines through in some of the scenes. The acting was okay-ish, but not particularly believable. I'm not sure if the nonsensical plot hurt or helped the acting, but this film won't be nominated for any awards any time soon. It started off with a lot of potential and an interesting premise, but I promise you that it never pays off and the film just meanders around any real semblance of a purpose until it eventually fizzles out to its anti-climactic conclusion. Don't waste your time unless you're really curious, and if you're that curious you can skip the middle 45 minutes or so since they don't contribute anything of worth to the plot and mainly just misdirect you into a "Ah! Got you!" twist.

http://m.imdb.com/title/tt4016934/ The director is Chan-wook Park, the one who directed the legendary movie: old boy. So I didn't even see the review and booked a ticket. This movie is set in 2nd world War, however there is no war theme in it at all. It's basically about some scheming and romance inside a mansion where the owner is extremely rich. Thematically extremely beautiful, the mansion is split into half, western and Japanese. Story wise it's a lot more light hearted than old boy. And yes, sex is a major element of this movie. For a lot of movies, they over use sex scenes, it feels unnecessary and made the movie felt cheap, but not this one. (except the final scene) The music is awesome, definitely going to download the ost. As to why this movie is great? Imo Chan woo Park movies are just unique. The movies always feel extra realistic although the events itself is quite unbelievable. And of cause revenge and plotting is his strength as well. I only didn't like the final part so much, it is a conclusion but it was too predictable. I give it a 8/10

by Nicolas Winding Refn Hotly anticipated, and now with a limited release. Apparently the film was booed at Cannes, and the film received a 17 minute standing ovation at Cannes. The movie is about a 16-year-old aspiring model Jesse, who's exposed to the dark underbelly of the LA modeling scene. It's a ... very interesting film. Not really a traditionally narrative movie, Refn keeps trying out new ideas. It's much slower than his previous work, and of course the director has never been known for propulsive cinema. Scenes, characters and moods tend to linger, there's no rush to get anywhere. It's exquisitely crafted, though not without its flaws. It didn't really draw me in, some of the comedic moments felt unintended, trying to look for a traditional character arc will leave you wanting. Stuff I liked - cinematography, lots of flare used to good effect - set design was gorgeous, with wholly uncaring photography studios and soulless mansions - Fanning was good Stuff I didn't much care for - Keanu Reeves, his performance wasn't in line with the others - Sarno's actor felt like a great value Ralp Fiennes Cool stuff + Show Spoiler + - the first scene and the bathroom scene spell out how the film will end (they're either Sex or Food) - The Three Witches in Ruby, Sarah and Gigi - Jack the photographer was awesome (and weird)

Each one has its ups and downs and each one brings something unique to the table. A very enjoyable movie nonetheless (I consider the new Star Trek series to be a kind of "GotG lite").

by Shane Black There's a story going around in Hollywood about a script by Shane Black. I can't vouch that it's true, I'm not sure anyone can, and maybe even Black himself would rather keep it a mystery. Supposedly, there's a passage in one of Black's scripts that goes like this (paraphrased): Hold up! This next scene is really motherfucking good. It's so good that when your audience sees the scene in the theater, they're going to drop their pants and just start jacking off, right there in the theater. That's how fucking good it's going to be. And with credits like Lethal Weapon, The Last Boy Scout and Last Action Hero, you kind of have to give him the benefit of the doubt. While I really enjoyed Iron Man 3, it's very much a Marvel movie through and through. It's gone through a rigorous production process to make it fit into a certain style. It's refreshing to see Black try something different here. The Nice Guys is really similar in tone to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. At the same time, it pays homage to the crime mysteries of the 70s and the buddy cop movies of the 80s (I wonder how that came to be). It's fun, it's irreverent at times, it plays loose and fast with its style. The script is killer, and Gosling and Crowe seem to be really enjoying themselves. Fleshing out Angourie Rice's Holly was a great move. Definitely one of the highlights of the year for me.

Really impressed how well this one was made. Perfect cast, great acting, stylistically very well done, great score. Countless things anyone active on the internet will recognize. Negative: The hacking sequence. Not 90's level bad, but still over dramatized computer hacking with fancy animations and all that. Story was as good as the premise would allow. LOVED the mix of Pokemon Go, Anonymous, Russian Roofers, Youtube Celebrities, Twitch.tv, and all that other 2016 online life we all live.
