I still think the book is ten times better and they should have kept true to the scope of the thing and made a triology or something, but under the premise of having to fit it all into one movie, it was done very well. I know I know, nobody watches formula one unless they run out of sleeping pills. I think you also have to have a cultural predisposition. If you do not know who Niki Lauda is and have never seen Daniel Brühl in another movie, you just won't get this one. Brühl basicly pulls an Edward Norton here, making you forget that he ever played anything else, he becomes Lauda, more than oscar worthy performance, probably will not reach enough people though. It also has Thor and Olivia Wild in it. Great directing, great images, very true to the "history" and perfect pacing, but thats to be expected from a racing movie, no? | ||

Not really. The book wasn't really about Ender, and the movie was all about him. It could be good for a TV series format with all the angles and plot-lines, not for a standalone movie. Everything is so incredibly rushed and boring... Even important moments of Ender failing, having emotional breakdowns and such take like 30sec to 1min of the screen time, everything else is about genius kid being successful at everything all the time. But compared to the last movies I watched this one was really one of the best. Maybe you could give me a good advice of another movie? Just to see if our taste is similar. He did not feel any character developement and called the movie rushed aswell. Maybe I am not one to judge since I still had the book good in my head and was reliving the "full" experience^^. | ||

Top 3 movies so far (in no particular order): Star Trek: Into Darkness, Only God Forgives, Europa Report (Man of Tai Chi gets honorable mention). Top garbage: Ender's Game, Man of Steel, White House Down, Olympus Has Fallen, After Earth, Oz, G. I. Joe, Gravity (from the top of my head). | ||
