The Russian version of Saving Private Ryan. I actually liked this movie way better than most American War movies; more realistic, less bullshit.

*) Not really a movie, but Danger 5 was very hilarous. It is an australian action comedy series about a team of 5 agents set out to disable Nazi plans (like Dinosaurs, Diamond girls and other crazy stuff) and to kill Hitler. You can watch all 6 episodes on youtube. *) The battery, kind of a zombie-roadmovie about to former baseball players. This gem was made with a budget of only 6000 $, so don't expect anything like World War Z. It is more about friendship and dealing with stressing situations than killing zombies. *) Zombie Hunter, seems like a lot of people disliked it, because of cliché roles and not enough Danny Trejo. I do think that all that corny dialogue (one-liners rather) are in there for fun and are not to be taken seriously. Should you manage to take that point of view you got a above average funny zombie movie at your hands. *) Dark Touch, my coworkers said they found it boring, I found it rather moving. I don't want to spoiler anything, so all I can say is that it is a better done Carrie (Steven King) with a younger girl with different motives. *) A Field in England Difficult movie, very hard to find any sense or deeper meaning, it left me baffeld. There is almost no action and things move forward rather slowly. And it is black/white! The one movie I could compare it to is Valhalla Rising, so if you liked Valhalla Rising you could give A Field in England a shot. *) HK: Forbidden Super Hero is SUPERRRR funny. HK stands for Hentai Kamen, a (of course) japanese high school boy who turns into a super hero once he wears panties as a mask. All you lovers of muten roshi and pervy sage should watch this. Gothic Lolita Battle Bear was the second movie in this double feature which wasn't as good as HK, but I think it might be worth a watch. *) Kiss of the Damned wasn't good, but it is still a better Vampire-Romance than Twilight. Unfortunately I didn't get to see The Lords of Salem, Bad Cops, Sharknado, The Hole and The Movie Orgy.

![]() Gravity Holy shit.... one of the best movies I have seen in a long, long, LONG time!!! This movie came up with such awesome screenplay and ideas which left me breathless in my seat after the last scene. For movies like this - no, for THIS movie only, 3D was invented, cause it made this movie so much more intense and awesome. And on top came the best 7.1 sounds I have ever witnessed, and combined with the stunning pictures it made this movie an absolute masterpiece. 10/10. Must. See.

Drug War - Chinese film about centered around the illicit drugs trade, a highly efficient anti-drug unit, and one criminal who will do anything to live. I enjoyed it from start to finish. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2165735/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Yeah, the movie is blowing people away. I remember A LOT of people were making fun of it because of how goofy the trailers made the movie look. Now a lot of doubters are shutting up and putting down money to see it. I'll admit that I rolled my eyes and chuckled a little when I saw the first trailer, but I was willing to give it a chance since I liked the director and cast.

Amazing. Finally some more cerebral sci-fi in line with Space Odyssey series. And one of the very few movies where "found footage" format didn't put me off. Highly recommended.

5/10 Every once in a while I watch one of these african american movies thinking that it will be able to break free from the whole black culture centric themes and motifs and elevate itself into something better. How disappointed I was to find the same old concept re-hashed again in the most boring way. It's like the only thing that can save black people is Jesus, basketball and singing. Perhaps I'm just not the target audience. American Dreams in China 9/10 Very touching story that captures the spirit of my parents' generation. Their struggles and conflicts are very similar to the real life stories I've heard from my parents. Watching this movie really struck home with me and helped me understand the current situation in China and my position as a privileged returning Chinese from overseas. Back to 1942 8/10 Depicting the devastating famine of Henan province in 1942, a real gut wrenching drama showing just how bad it was back in the day. The story is told from a few different perspectives and together the pieces fall into place. Pacific Rim 7/10 Giant robots fighting giant monsters is no original concept, but Guillermo del Toro does not tease with flashes of single frames or shaky cam footage of monster tails leaving you blue balled. You get what you paid for with good long satisfying fight scenes where robot fists meet with monsters' faces. Contraband 6/10 Not too bad, felt like a typical Mark Whalberg movie through and through. Switch 4/10 I don't even know where to begin. It's like a weird mix of oldschool canto heist movie with some pseudo japanese shit with guy ritchie with a lot of fan service and the worst most random foreigners ever. Terrible waste of money.

![]() Post-apocalyptic, violence, psychology, humanity, religion and more. This movie just blows me away, leaves me speechless and in awe. The scope, concept, sounds, everything are just in a different league. Such a powerful film. Gotta read the manga because they say it's even better 9.5/10 for the amazing experience. How could Japan pull stuffs like Paprika and this one?

How could Japan pull stuffs like Paprika and this one? Akira is fucking awesome. Maybe I tend to rate it higher than I should because it was the first Anime movie that I saw, but still....I always dust off my DVD of it every few months and watch it. The manga was a lot more expansive from what I heard which is why it is generally regarded as being better. + Show Spoiler + ![]() Pacific Rim - This was pretty damn cool. Just watch it for giant robots fighting giant monsters and you will have fun with it. Also was cool to hear the GLaDOS cameo in it.

I must say I was thoroughly surprise at how good this movie was. The pace of the movie was really good. It didn't just focus on the sports drama and the rivalry between the two drivers but also on the personality differences between the two. I really liked it and the ending (Endings are what disappoint me the most usually in good movies) was brillaint. Best movie of the summer for me.

![]() The Internship Well, this was a nice pleasant surprise. It was your standard sad story turns into a success cliche film. However it is very good when you can relate to the film more in terms of it being all about google and technology xD Id highly recommend this film for a nice chilled evening if you just want a good bit of humour and a decent (ish) story 7/10
