Suzhou River, Last Life in the Universe, Happy Together, Days of Being Wild/In the Mood for Love/2046, Water Lilies, Scenes from a Marriage (although it's actually a 6-episode series, unless you watch the extremely cut theatrical version)
Last life is a decent movie, really expected a little bit more but idk, something was lacking in the story and female character's acting. Air Doll is okay, only really good because of the acting of Bae Doona, the female main role, but its a good friendship/romance Japanese movie.
First of all thanks to anyone who puts at least some effort in their posts here. I really like coming to this thread, because of you.
신세계 New World (2013) 7.2/10 If you enjoy Korean movies (with 최민식 Choi Min Sik), you'll probably enjoy this one.
Now You See Me (2013) 5/10 It seems it should be more fun for the younger crowd. As for the Woody and Jesse duo, I liked them much better in Zombieland.
不能說的秘密 The Secret That Cannot Be Told (2007) 5/10 Another kiddy movie, this time about piano and romance. I feel this movie could have easily been 8/10 with the right actors and directors, because I did like the story.
호로비츠를 위하여 For Horowitz (2006) 7.9/10 Another movie about piano, probably won't be interesting to you if you don't like the piano. A young single woman starts her own piano studio above a pizzeria. She will be struggling to get by and becomes extra frustrated at times as she took an orphan under her wing who likes to get in trouble. The orphan is such a pain to her, but also her best student. She has really high hopes and goals for the kid thus pushes him really really hard, but at what cost? The pizzeria owner has a huge crush on the piano teacher. Not a surprise, because the main character is such a dreamy woman... The pizzeria guy is a really nice addition to the film. His quest to conquer her heart adds much needed comedy. + Show Spoiler +
Dr. No (1962) 6.4/10 Very impressive scenery, but the acting is so 'acted'... As many kids, I grew up with James Bond. It was nice to see how it all typically started. I would recommend anyone (to rewatch) this movie who enjoyed watching James Bond as a kid.
From Russia with Love (1963) 6.7/10 Still 'acted', but better as a whole. I would recommend this for the same reason as Dr. No, it really felt like a good part 2 to Dr. No.

I disagree, respectfully. A lot of the jokes were cheap, and what good jokes there were, were ruined by the composition of the movie. It starts off as an absurd schaudenfreude-based comedy, then transitions into an almost entirely unironic I-Told-You-So story about the bible. After all that, the ending had me going What The Fuck, in my head, until I fell asleep that night.
I'm up for comedy based on stupidity, as well as comedy based on people getting hurt sometimes. This was just bad. It disgusted my intelligence, and made me feel bad for respecting my own ability to think. And I have a great sense of humor.
I went into this expecting very little, but it actually turned out to be surprisingly good. I'm generally not a big fan of the whole "so bad it's good" concept, but the dialogue really made this exceptional.
26 Garden of Words (2013) - 8.5/10
More good stuff from Makoto Shinkai. Beautiful to look at and very real and touching.
27 The Unknown (1927) - 8.0/10
Not really a horror movie by today's standards, but still some good stuff. Some very good acting and a great soundtrack.
28 I Am Legend (2007) - 6.0/10
Never really engaged me at all. I felt it did a poor job of properly explaining the situation, and while it had potential to go in some interesting directions, often just played out like yet another zombie movie.

haha rounders.
it's a decent movie, but when you actually make money from poker for a living, this movie turns from a drama into a comedy. everything matt damon does/thinks in this movie is utterly idiotic, and delusional. Any 5000nl player would pay a lot to get into a game with matt damon from the movie. (or kgb)
for me: 6/10 for non poker players. 9/10 for a comedy as a poker pro.
Dude, the movie came out in 1998. People didn't think about hand ranges or 3-bet bluffing frequencies.
haha true. the game has become a lot more evolved since the internet. it's kinda like how starcraft has evolved since 1998.
Still, the scene where he describes outplaying Johnny Chan is hilarious. I can't remember it fully but he describes 4 or 5 bet bluffing when only 10big blinds deep vs chan. Even a complete fish knows that doesn't make any sense, you either shove/fold. And the reasons he gave for making the bluff are not logical. They don't follow any reads, patterns, ect.
When i started out playing poker i had a similar illogical thought process as matt damons character, but then i learnt how to play properly after some experience. Anyway, i guess i just killed anyone's interest in watching the movie, so i will suggest another:

Can is garden of worlds eng dub? cuz i fancy watching that if it is xD
Well this film really gripped me for some reason, loved every minute of it (144mins long!) was a great story and piece of cinematography here for me. I think it's a really solid good film, highly recommend if you like a good drama type film.

Doesn't really have anything to do with having a sense of humor or not. I liked other movies by them like pineapple express and stuff, This is the End just wasn't that great. I don't think I laughed once the entire movie. One of the worst comedies I've seen in the last 6 months.
You didn't laugh not one time? As someone who liked Pineapple Express like yourself, the whole bit with Pineapple Express 2 was so funny and such great fan service I just can't believe for someone who liked that movie to not laugh one time during that bit. There are so many comedic gems through out the movie that I can give other examples of. For example, + Show Spoiler +
When Brian Huskey's character manages to get his head through the doggy door of the house and is pleading to be let in to the point where he is willing to titty fuck Seth Rogens character just to be let in is gold!
.
Best comedy I have seen in years. Just my two cents.

I assess each piece as it stands on it's own. Hence, I do not think that piggybacking off of previous successes necessarily makes for good writing. That's more of a point to pineapple express then this movie if you think about it. I realize my opinion is just that, and other people enjoyed it. That's about all I have to say
Speaking for varying tastes, I find that Commando (1985) makes for an excellent comedy. It's so ludicrous I can't help but laugh every time I watch it.

I doubt anyone ever took that movie seriously. Everybody I know absolutely loves commando for its over the top action, and comedically bad villains.
That type of movie mixed with Arnolds pretty bad acting skills and English is what made him more then good to watch.
A Haunted House
Malcolm and Kisha move into their dream home, but soon learn a demon also resides there. When Kisha becomes possessed, Malcolm - determined to keep his sex life on track - turns to a priest, a psychic, and a team of ghost-busters for help.
This however is supposed to a comedy, but fails terribly at it. I know a lot of people love the wayens family (The Wayans Bros, scary movie etc.) but this is by far the worst junk they have ever made, or been in.
Jokes are few and far between, to the point it only relies on very badly made awkward moments to make us laugh. Its one of those movies you regret watching because you felt your life slipping away from you watching the junk.
