While being pretty darn tootin' gory, it doesn't have the charm and ingenuity of the original Evil Dead, and certainly not the campiness and humour of the 2nd and 3rd. 6/10 - enjoyable, but not memorable. | ||

It's pretty good, maybe a solid 7.5/10 for me--pretty high by my standards. I definitely found it unique and refreshing to see. It's cute but also a bit bizarre, to me it has just the right feel to it. I didn't recognise that the actors in it are Rain and Im Soo-jung--i.e. the pop star and the girl from A tale of two sisters. Koreans here probably will see the movie differently knowing who the people are in the film lol; I just heard of it via netflix. Also had no idea it was same director Old boy, but I think this film is better than Old boy--obviously a lot different, but this fit me better. one spoiler + Show Spoiler + I did not see they were having sex at the end of the movie, that knowledge makes the ending a little bit better for the character development. I just stopped paying attention because I assumed it was a little fade out scenery with the rainbow X_X I don't normally post in this thread (actually I post in another forum's movie thread), but figured tl has more korean overlap. Check it out! | ||

The film gives the history of online poker over the 15 or so years it's existed, while following the lives of 3 poker players through the ups & downs of the online poker industry. I enjoyed the film, even if it didn't tell me a whole lot I didn't already know but I think the best thing about the film is that almost anyone will be able to relate to one of the 3 characters. I'm sure for most TLers that will be the mother playing poker to support her family, but maybe some of you will relate to the former Starcraft player turned high stakes pro. | ||

8/10 simply amazing horror movie and it does not disappoint being a remake of such a cult original classic. They took out the humor the first had but they delivered on every scale imo. One word "groovy" + Show Spoiler + One thing bothers me though. They needed 5 souls for it to rain blood and an abomination to come to life. When his sister came back to life, only 4 people had died. Unless dying and being revived counts as 1 soul being taken. Or maybe the dog's soul counts lol. | ||

Yet Spock can jump around on ships flying through the air and fight against a guy who felt nothing from Kirk punching him and can crush people's heads between his hands...? Obviously a lot of suspension of disbelief goes into movies like this, but that was just a stupid and anti-climactic way for Khan to get caught, especially after future Spock talked about how he was their greatest enemy and all that. Also, why did they need his blood to save Kirk? What about the 72 cryogenically frozen people that are right there? Not sure how much of this movie's mediocrity is due to Superman just not being a very interesting character, or if it was just poorly done. Also, this is 2013. Stop with the "He puts glasses on and NOBODY KNOWS WHO HE IS" shit. It clearly makes no sense and just makes the character even worse. | ||
