I was basically forced to watch this and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Although it is sort of lame to have another Spider-Man-Movie so soon after the last series, I think it is a rather good film.
The fact that Peter Parker basically turned into an arrogant asshole after getting bitten makes so much sense, who wouldn't get a little bit overzealos after becoming a god amongst men?
Admittedly, it only takes an origin-story and second-hand vertigo to sell me on a Spider-Man flick. Man I was surprised by how much I hated it. It was just like I was watching the first one all over Again.
But... Emma Stone? Although she might be a little old to play a 17yo, but she lights up every film she stars in!

No argument. I would watch her do anything. And Andrew garfield was similarly fantastic. I mean just the plot pace and the general idea. Down to the touching New York City citizen moment, the really terrible colloquialisms while he starts swinging.

Damnit why is that? I mean if the guy was really mediocre I could understand but why cant people fucking understand that "greatest" has only meaning in one person's own preferences? I never thought of him as "the one", but I'm glad some people do, good for them and good for him, he's a great actor. He's clearly talented, he had amazing roles, in undoubtedly great movies, so please go ahead and die inside. What the fuck is going to happen to you if you ever read a blog about any teenager actor... Bleeeh too many hipsters, all of a sudden Pacino is going to be an internet sensation and Mads Mikkelsen or whoever the fuck the only one that should be called an actor. It's art, just like music, everyone got a different perspective, some are obviously wrong, but yeah fuck who am I to tell some random 13 year old girl that Twilight and shit like that is killing modern culture, she enjoys it, the people making it sure enjoy the money, everyone's happy, let's just hope they dont get too big and kill any good projects around but that should take a while anyway... But seriously? Kevin Spacey? But are they? What if that happiness is an intended consequence of the cultural machine of movie and television production, a factor of populational psychological amelioration meant to keep the sheep at bay as those in power continue to rake in the dollars and dictate what "good" pieces of artistic expression are? I blame Kevin Spacey.
You Win! sir. Still, the point stands, but what you're gonna do, bomb TV stations until people realize they're buying shit? I mean, it is to a point where you just have to give up, and let them be happy with the *imho* shit they watch / listen, I had to with my sister, I wont punch her until she watches Old Boy, actually she'd scream at me because it's "violent and creepy"... And once in a while I watch some random terrible movie with her that she loves, often times there is Josh Hartnett involved... It's hard, I wont lie, but its either that or I become like the other dude, barricade the doors and marry my right hand, her name is Paula btw.

I would venture to say Josh Hartnett has provided me with more entertainment than Kevin Spacey.

Artosis has provided me with more entertainment than most actors, that doesn't make him a good actor.

But it does make "most actors" look pretty bad.

Oh my gosh, this movie was sooo cute! Really, go watch it. If you have an affection for voice crackes ala ashleigh ball, then you gonna fall in love with sarah silverman's voice over for the female lead.
10/10 would watch again.

Was sorta dissapointed. The way the "message" of the film was delivered seemed so blunt. Matrix had layer over layer over layer of meaning that unrevealed over the years. Vendetta was atleast kinda cool. Maybe I really have to see this one again, and I will in the distant future, for now I am just crushed as I had way higher hopes.
The make-up artists must have had a blast though and as a european hugh grants transformations are just priceless.
6/10 for now, have to watch again.

I expected a mediocre, kinda funny movie that leaves you with a good feeling, and I was not dissapointed. I really think the message of the movie is twisted sick and sadly probably is gonna get lost over the comedy character of the movie. Couldn't have cared less for salma hayek in it. Seeing "Doug" in rocky like fights is just too cool. Really, that nice dude covered in blood sweat and puke is fantaboulus. I was really enjoying seeing Bus Rotten in it, how great is that! :D Fight scences are as realistic as karate kid, but it is a movie and they are very entertaining for that matter.
8/10, defnitly one that goes into the collection

Run. RUN, RUN AWAY. The shittiest movie I had to endure in a long time. Setting=nice, Tom Cruise=great roll, well played, Alec Baldwin=Lovely!!!, Music=not really my taste but "ok" i guess. Female and Male Lead=???With whom have they slept to get their parts? Whats her face again and some guy who is plainly repulsive devolope a chemistry of Hydrogen and Chlor that through the most pathetic plot any musical ever had makes you wanna rip your eyes out. Srsly, why do movies like that exist?
2/10, 1 for tom, and 1 for alec (the 9 of the felt 300minutes that are worth watching)

Scientifically accurate and believable hard science fiction that explores the humane element. Only minor plotholes. 9 / 10 + Show Spoiler +MASSIVE SPOILERS AND MASS GUESSING- The clones do not have any "expiration date", they suffer from radiation sickness because of improper shielding of the base. (Word of God seem to disagree, saying they specifically engineered them to last for 3 years, but I'm sticking to it ) - Sam 0 never finished his 3 years. Otherwise the numbers don't add up. Her daughter is 15 years old at the conclusion of the service of Sam 5, and they saw the incineration of 4 Sams which means 5 full time contracts were fulfilled, not 6. - Sam 0 was in the plot, supported by the television or radio broadcast at the end of the movie: "...Sam Bell for crimes..." - Tess is likely to be in the plot as well. They might have pretended for 3 years that Sam was on the Moon so Tess would produce authentic videos, but telling her to fake them is much easier and cheaper.
scientifically accurate? what the fuck?
that movie made no sense whatsoever. also it was boring as fuck. 5/10

I've never been good with names. I could Remember Morgan Freeman, but it took me a while to connect Brad Pitt the face to Brad Pitt the name and I had to check the movie poster to be sure.
I think there are some amazing actors everywhere, even in indie films and low budget films. The girl from the movie "Trust" was a far better actor than either of the olsen twins at the same age. I think people get tied up in names and say things like "Oh Heath Ledger Made the Batman Movie" when really the performance was just good and nothing to write home about. Many actors get praise for being amazing actors when they really aren't and more often than not, great acting will not make a movie great on its own.

Because Fight Club is clearly closer to a Tarantino movie than to Tarkovski... If you think the "philosophy" behind it is serious, it's a completely dumb movie. I personnally dislike the movie, I understand how you can think it's well-shot/funny etc... Anyway, one of those films overrated by the internet generation, not as badly as LoTR, Shawshank, or Nolan's I guess, because Fincher knows how to shot a scene at least. And I guess you read the book, because you know Fight Club is a book first right? Chuck Palahniuk's, and yes, there is deep meaning behind Fight Club, it might please any teenager from Scandinavia to India, and thats kinda why its so cool to hate it, but no, comparing Fight Club to LoTR, gtfo please. Hipsters are so annoying, seriously Yeah, I'm a hipster because I disagree with you. I'd be interested to hear the deep message behind Fight Club ("society sucks" doesn't count), but i'm sure you'd rather keep on making ad hominems.

I must admit, calling Liam Neeson one of the best actors of today is something I've never heard. Clash/Wrath of the Titans were such masterpieces right? You know, I do respect him as an actor, but do you not see the pointlessness in pointing out his worst movies (i.e. K-pax)? Every actor ends up in crap movies, doesn't reflect their talent though.

Call me blase but I genuinely think Liam Neeson's performance in Schindler's List is one of the greatest performances in modern movie making. Though, in my mind, there are a great many "greatest peformances" so take from that what you will. I do think he outstripes Kevin Spacey though

Dude, watch Lucky # Slevin
And then watch it again.
and again and again and again and again.
And Black Hawk Down and Pearl Harbor were above average flicks for me. I can understand disagreement.

Lucky # Slevin is hands down my favorite movie on this earth. Granted it's not all thanks to Josh Hartnett. But still.

I actually give Kevin James mad props because he did go through a decent amount of mma training to make sure the fights and everything looked accurate.
![[image loading]](http://www.theendofthepage.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/looper-poster.jpg) Looper - Not bad, felt overhyped though. I never like movies thats have time travel in it, its like impossible to get right or have it make enough sense. I'm also sick of seeing it being compared to a movie like Blade Runner, which is imo way better than this.
![[image loading]](http://sjsugamedev.com/sites/default/files/styles/article-700/public/field/image/25307.png) Indie Game: The Movie - Tells the tale of a bunch of people in the Indie game community. Jonathan Blow (the maker of Braid) as well as the creators of Super Meat Boy as they go through their game launch. Also follows the guy behind FEZ and all the shit he went through. Overall was pretty good, especially if you ever had an interest in these games, it was nice to see some backstory behind it. I can say for sure now that I had mad respect for anyone who makes their own videogame. The sacrifice is pretty ridiculous.

Skyfall was pretty decent, well done, I enjoyed it, but it is really not in the James Bond formula at all. It's either one of those step outside the norm for the story of significant character events, or they are really drastically re-aligning the whole thing. After paying it a little lip service, it almost even pokes fun or meta-commentates on how much it's diverging from the extravagant private island supervillain thing.

I was skeptical near the beginning about how entertaining this would be, but it really grows into something. Excellent character portrait, the townspeople interviews (which was the part I started most skeptical about) really make it.

How do we judge actors? By their highs? By their lows? Imo I don't think we can judge actors, I think we can only judge performances. A good actor acting in a bad movie doesn't make him a bad actor. It's his acting that makes him a good actor.

Anyone else watch Life of Pi? I really liked it. I've never read the book, but I can't imagine that it didn't do it justice.
