I was looking for either a Jackie Chan or a Jet Lee. found them both =).
So firstly, a medal for the person who did the casting xD, he/she's a genius. The main character is a martial art movie fan. So based on that, the director was able to put a lot of references into his movie, making it kind of a tribute to old school martial art movies. The action scenes were as expect, out of an elite level. With or without weapons, with snake or tiger stance, drunken or not xD. The scenario is really not bad for this kind of movie, even though it's very manichean. It's mythology based, with a bit of spiritual journey into it. Even the dialogues were sometimes good, with a little taoist philosophy here and there, and the unavoidable JC jokes. Lots of revelations untill the end. Overall very enjoyable. I'd buy it on Blue Ray ^^.
Bonus : Golden Sparrow (Yifei Liu) so beautifull : + Show Spoiler +

Ted 8/10 Was actually not bad since usually Seth McFarlane gets so full of himself but this one was obviously tuned for a more commercial movie experience in mind and he was able to cut back the Family Guy crap to a minimum. Some original moments makes this rom com actually not feel like a rom com. Anyway congrats on the money.
Total Recall 7/10 A very fucking generous 7 because this is just a SciFi porno. It's got all the cool gadgets from Minority Report, Source Code, Mission Impossible and then doesn't even try to have a story. It's Colin Farrell pulling his eyebrows even higher than normal, flinching and tripping everywhere while millions of dollars worth of movie stunt explosives go off. The CGI is pretty damn good, so get as high as possible before watching.

The mythology may bother some monkey king fanatics. Also there are random switches between Chinese and English so be sure you can speak both languages fluently or use captions if you want the full experience. You don't need them to understand the story but you may feel like you do.

I agree. Story is paced perfectly.

Spoilers to cut down on post length.
+ Show Spoiler + Ninja Assassin - Dunno why but this was a movie that kept popping up for whatever reason as something I wanted to see. I should probably ignore the voice in my head from now on because this was pretty stupid. The only redeeming quality are the action scenes because its really over the top with the violence. Blood spurting everywhere, people being beheaded etc. Was a waste of time.
+ Show Spoiler + End of Watch - Pretty good. Couple of LAPD cops find a drug stash and become targets for the gang. Shot first person so theres some shake-cam going on but its not too bad. If I had to compare it to something, I would say its like a longer episode of Southland where they concentrate on a couple of cops who are partners.
+ Show Spoiler + The Expendables 2 - I thought the first one was pretty lacking so I dunno why I decided to watch this, but yeah....I did. The action scenes were pretty good. Story is the typical action movie fare like the first one and JCVD was pretty weak as the villan. It's a movie where it's better to just fast forward to the action scenes and mute everything in between. + Show Spoiler +Also, wtf at Chuck Norris cameo and then introducing himself with....a Chuck Norris joke. Facepalmed so hard at that....the fuck.
+ Show Spoiler + Battle Royale - Awesome. Loved everything about this movie. Considering getting the book now.
+ Show Spoiler + Battle Royale II - Spoilers if you haven't watched the first one. Much worse than the first. Instead of a class fighting among themselves, its a class fighting together, at first to kill the survivors from the previous movie, and 2nd to kill the military guys to escape. None of the new characters seemed to have much depth to them, and gone are the scavenging for weapons since they are all given fuckin automatic machine-guns from the start. It's just of a bunch of shooting, which makes for some exciting scenes but really detracts from what made the first one so great.
+ Show Spoiler + Rise of the Planet of the Apes - Pretty boring honestly. It's really slow to get to the action and even then it was still disappointing to me. Dunno, I found myself wishing I had watched something else over it.
+ Show Spoiler + Lawless - About a bunch of brothers in Virgina who sold moonshine during the Prohibition. Pretty interesting and very well acted, Tom Hardy especially. It seemed to lack an overarching theme though to keep it all together, that said I would still say it is worth seeing.

Was surprisingly really better than I originally thought going into it. And holy shit Rock got jacked jesus. First time I've seen him in a while and damn did he bulk up.
Also Gal Gadot (the Israeli chick) in that movie was fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.

Lawless
Was surprisingly good. Even Shia didn't bother me in this one and Tom Hardy was a boss as usual. It also seems that Nick Cave is pretty good at writing screenplays.

Just went out and saw Argo
It was really good, though I feel some lines were sort of just put in there to be in the trailer and didn't really flow well.

Just watched the original planet of the apes after seeing the rise remake of the old series, and it was well worth it, and i already had the story memorized and everything from reading on the internet. One of the best classic movies i have seen in a very long time!

![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/idkOi.jpg) Se7en. 1995 I didn't like this movie that much. It has Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt in it (also the bad guy from horrible bosses) but it feels like a long episode of CSI. There just wasn't enough entertainment. The scenes weren't gruesome enough. I could see it being a big thing back in 95.
With all these rebellions going on I think people should see V for Vendetta or read about the gunpowder plot. Not because the movie was good, but because people are wearing Guy Fawkes masks. The 5th of November was the date in history when Guy Fawkes tried to blow up Parliament for religious reasons. He was caught and executed along with several co-conspirators. I doubt everyone who's rebelled against their government has seen the movie or even are doing the rebellions for the same reasons but the idea of the people rising up against their oppressive governments to rebel is a powerful one... and perhaps I was too young to care but I feel like there have been more rebellions lately than there were when I was a child. I like that people have a symbol to use.

Total Recall 7/10, expected a lot more, the special effects were good but the plot could've been expanded better ,and I hate open-ended ending movies ><

Just got back from Lincoln
![[image loading]](http://content8.flixster.com/movie/11/16/63/11166394_det.jpg)
Good acting. As expected, Daniel Day Lewis did a really good job portraying Lincoln. Solid production, good visuals. A well balanced mix of witty jokes and powerful moments.
8 /10
But beware, you must have a good attention span. There are a lot of long monologues and if you you can't maintain your focus you probably won't enjoy this movie.

Looper
Was OK. I wish they'd stop delving into time travel though, some stupid things come out of it when Hollywood goes at it.

Moon.
This movie is what science fiction should be about. Scientifically accurate and believable hard science fiction that explores the humane element. Only minor plotholes.
9 / 10
+ Show Spoiler +MASSIVE SPOILERS AND MASS GUESSING- The clones do not have any "expiration date", they suffer from radiation sickness because of improper shielding of the base. (Word of God seem to disagree, saying they specifically engineered them to last for 3 years, but I'm sticking to it ) - Sam 0 never finished his 3 years. Otherwise the numbers don't add up. Her daughter is 15 years old at the conclusion of the service of Sam 5, and they saw the incineration of 4 Sams which means 5 full time contracts were fulfilled, not 6. - Sam 0 was in the plot, supported by the television or radio broadcast at the end of the movie: "...Sam Bell for crimes..." - Tess is likely to be in the plot as well. They might have pretended for 3 years that Sam was on the Moon so Tess would produce authentic videos, but telling her to fake them is much easier and cheaper.

Just saw Holy Motors. It wasn't very good.

The Gods Must be Crazy
This is a movie from the 80s about a bushman named Xi living in the remote Saharan desert, a place so remote only his tribe knows how to survive there. They have never made contact with other humans. One day Xi is walking when he sees a glass bottle fall from the sky. He has never seen glass before. The object is clear like water to him, yet harder than anything he has ever come into contact with; there are no rocks in the Sahara. The movie is about the changes the glass bottle brings to Xi and his tribe of bushmen.
