Just saw Sinister. Honestly I'd give it an 8.5-9/10

such a good movie had me on the edge of my seat most of the time and trying to guess what would happen

Memories of murder. Saw it for the second time about a week ago. Probably one of the best korea movies I've seen in a long time. I can recommend it to anyone who loves dark comedy mixed with good story line and beatifull cinema work.

Its about two stupid korean detectives, Park Doo-Man and Cho Yong-koo. Who must solve a murder, rape case. Its mix of comedy and suspence is quite good =)

10/10

Sinister

Didnt like this one. I felt the trailer was much better then the actual movie. It wasnt as scary as I had hoped. Big disappointment =/

2/10

I wasnt a huge fan of Sinister either. I definitely enjoyed it, and it was well acted I thought. But the scariness being entirely the shock value of how gruesomely people died, I like to leave that up to Final Destination.

Yea, that is probably an accurate comparison. It's about the Rwandan genocide and a Rwandan hotel manager who saves over 1200 Rwandans from Hutu militia forces. What makes the Rwandan genocide more visibly brutal, is that it pitted neighbor against neighbor, and was performed mainly using cheap Chinese machetes+ Show Spoiler +

On the surface, it sounds incredibly similar to Schindler's List.

However, I thought the movie did a very good job at portraying the complete apathy the Western nations showed Rwanda, while Hutus (majority ethnic group) butchered Tutsi (minority ethnic group) and moderate Hutus alike. It also did well at displaying the obvious faults the UN has, namely the ineffectiveness of Peacekeepers.

It is based on a true story, it's very suspensful, it isn't completely happy ending, etc. I'm a pretty lax movie reviewer, but I'd give this at least an 8.5/10. Don Cheetle does a superb job as the main character, and really helps bring a sense of comraderie between the viewer and the various characters in the movie.

Hope that helped

That's exactly what I'm looking for. As a Westerner, my Sunday nights are valuable. They're the last long consecutive few hours I have of free time before I have to work for the week. That is why I need a long review to determine for myself whether a movie is worth watching.

I'm almost finished the movie now. Shit is horrible. I'm going to go get some food. I'm literally starving.

- The clones do not have any "expiration date", they suffer from radiation sickness because of improper shielding of the base. (Word of God seem to disagree, saying they specifically engineered them to last for 3 years, but I'm sticking to it )
- Sam 0 never finished his 3 years. Otherwise the numbers don't add up. Her daughter is 15 years old at the conclusion of the service of Sam 5, and they saw the incineration of 4 Sams which means 5 full time contracts were fulfilled, not 6.
- Sam 0 was in the plot, supported by the television or radio broadcast at the end of the movie: "...Sam Bell for crimes..."
- Tess is likely to be in the plot as well. They might have pretended for 3 years that Sam was on the Moon so Tess would produce authentic videos, but telling her to fake them is much easier and cheaper.

that movie made no sense whatsoever. also it was boring as fuck. 5/10

I completely disagree - I never found it to be boring and I'd be curious to hear what you think you have identified as logical flaws. 8/10.

Such a good 007 movie, really quite different and now we see the series going back to a Bond which resembles Ian Fleming's imagination.

Yes. We probably still do, but I was using some kind of snide sarcasm. Good movie. Probably relevant considering the unrest in the Congo at the moment.

I saw skyfall recently too! I don't know though...throughout the film I think I became gradually less and less interested in things. Its just because...the plot doesn't really exist. Like in the old films, at least there was some cool, overarching plan that the villain wanted to accomplish. I'm not saying it needs to be campy or ridiculous like having a giant laser on the moon blow up the planet, but there should be some kind of intelligent plan.

What I really loved about Casino Royale was that near the end, they had a really interesting twist. It wasn't just about some guy gambling away the money of mercenary groups...he turned out to be a liability for a larger, more mysterious group codenamed "spectre". That's interesting...and in terms of action, that awesome scene with the guy who only had one shaded eyeglass in his pair of glasses, firing a nailgun. One of the coolest villains I've seen (Casino Royale was packed with action, Skyfall was a bit more scarce or toned down).

When I came out of the theatre I found myself wanting to like Skyfall, but realizing there isn't an element that really grabs me. It was a good action movie, but it just feels like there's nothing else. Maybe people could empathize with Bond's aging problems more, but he seems to stiff for me to really relate to him in that way.

Anyway had to share my thoughts. Feels better . Good to see other people enjoyed it, by the looks of things you're in the overwhelming majority of the elite reviewers (going by rotten tomatoes)

I actually liked this one very much.
Not a masterpiece, but very entertaining, especially when you into such "game/riddle" movies.

Another one of this genre would be "Exam":

Not bad either, but i clearly prefer the first one.

I just finished watching Breaking Dawn Part 2. I hate it when they split movies into pieces nowadays and then drag things out in order to justify it. The first half of the film was so boring I was actually excited about having to go to the bathroom. The second half was much more interesting, but the entire time I couldn't help but thinking that part 1 and 2 could have been turned into one film and we wouldn't have lost much. I would give this film 3/10. If they had combined the two parts together I might give it 5/10.

Can people please stop just linking a picture and doing their text without mentioning what movie they're talking about. Half the picture links are broken.

Moon annoyed me, because essentially there's not really much motivation behind + Show Spoiler +
the whole clone deal. The same type of people that spends their time on oilrigs or whatever could be sent to the moon instead. And saving energy on the flight seems like a moot point since they've essentially solved any semblance of an energy crisis in that time by mass implementing fusion power.

Saw Silent Hill Revelation 3D a few nights ago. One of the worst things I have ever seen, spent the first half of the movie boggled at the terrible dialogue, and then spent the second half laughing because it was just absolutely ridiculous.

At the end Claudia Wolf turns into a monster and has a Matrix style battle with Pyramid Head in a ring of fire. I swear I am not making this up.

Also what the fuck were people getting into fist fights for when they were in a narrow street with automatic weapons. Man :/
